What a post and what a watch, my friend!
Both are master pieces!
Love these kinds of historical posts with a lot of facts and some details unknown, waiting to be discovered and to feed our dreams!
Movement made in 1959…
Watch delivered to the Marine Nationale in 1965.
The owner receives the watch in 1967!
You may wonder what happened during the 1959-1967?
The Cal P 478 / BWSBr are a beautiful movement, IMO.
Even if no decoration, you can see it is a solid tool watch movement made for precision!
This example looks to be in perfect condition!
And the screw in case back – a good improvement for a Marine watch!
Actually the Ref 159 also came as I understand with a water proof version (not the version delivered to SHOM).
As I only have the box and not the watch I am not sure, but logically that one should also have the screw in case back.
I hope this watch will find a home with an owner that appreciates such a marvel.
Best, my friend – and again thank you for a wonderful post!
