First of all, huge congrats for this very nice " Doublé ".
The Vintage Calendar is something I seriously have in my mind, but I have other very urgent priorities to deal with, so I will have to delay it a bit.
What to say about the Geomatic I didn't already say, except that this is a piece I appreciate more and more.
An extraordinary presence on the wrist for such a small watch ( 36 mm ), but a so classic, timeless and awesome design!
All is here, with a lot of ...Elegance.
As for the Chronometre, now:
I'm a big, huge fan of the Geophysic.
I know the watch is small ( 35 mm ), I tried it in SS and in RG several times, but this is something I can live with.
If you remember well, when we did the interview with the Heritage Gallery Team, this was their favourite piece, when we spoke about re editions.
But a Re Editon doesn't seem ( at least my only and very personal guess ) realistic for the reason you mentionned ( the size ).
Nowadays, 35 mm is really too small, and I fear that the Public won't welcome it.
The Fans, yes, but not the Public.
So a Re Edition ( that means an exact replica of the original model ) has a few chances to see the light.
That said, what to think, what to hope?
On this matter I will have a different opinion, Jerome.
To me, a Chronometre doesn't need anything else than being a ..Chronometer.
No GMT, no WT, no Alarm, nothing else than a Chronometer, which is a lot, the most important, at least.
The size and the case?
No problem: Take the very nice case of the Master Grande Ulra Thin ( 40 mm ).
Add a big see through case back.
House a superb movement, with not date, but a central second.
Work on the finish, and put a black dial, or a ruthenium one, why not, with WG applied indexes.
Work on the movement: That is a JLC speciality, with nice anglages, perlages and cotes de Geneve.
It would be perfect if it would be a manual wound movement, with a power reserve of at least 72 hours.
Put on it a very nice old croc strap, without stitching at all, and a nicely designed pin buckle, with a lovely designedJL Logo at the end of the buckle.
Price it correctly, not too cheap, not too expensive, and communicate on it as it deserves.
This year, next month, JLC with some other prestigious competitors will attend to the Chronometry Contest.
There is no better reason to launch, next year, such a piece, in Hommage to the JLC Tradition.
My 2 000 000 Cents.
Best,
Nicolas
