I look at it differently

In life there are MUST haves and nice to haves. In the car world I always had tremendous respect

for the Lamborghini Countach (only periscopia). Its such a pioneering design and so ahead of its time. But would I want to own one?
No thank you. I prefer other cars. Same for a 246 Dino. Its a nice car but that doesn't mean I need to own one.
In the watch world I MUST have a Polaris.  Its one of the most beautiful watch designs ever made. Its so big, so bad and the crowns
are a pleasure. I cannot imagine my life without one. The watch is a marvel, a wonder and only when you wear do you understand its power.

I recently held a longines diver in my hand. Its nice but it does not captivate me. The longines diver is a nice to have but not must have.
But its nice to see both together, to compare. Both have their charms and for those into diving watches perhaps both are unavoidable.

But for me, the Polaris makes my heart beat faster EVERY time I see one. Without a doubt a top 10 favorite of mine of all time.

Best Edmond
ps: I would also put the sea-dweller in the nice to have category (Joe- you would have guessed that right?). Its nice. But in no way a must have.

All is in the title. Some ten years ago, I dreamt of getting these 2 watches, 2 not so distant cousins, as they both share a super compressor case, patended a few years before by its Creator, Edwin Piquerez. They both share this internal diving bezel,too,...

I have always liked the Polaris.....but...

....i am now seeing more and more the beauty of the Longines Diver..... Beautiful

That is indeed a superb watch. More under the radar than the Polaris.

But not less appealing. And some of them developped a delicious patina, too. To rediscover. Best, Nicolas

Those 2 made such a great pair!
