SIHH 2011:Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Enamel.

 By: amanico : January 27th, 2011-07:55
I don't know if you remember that we often spoke about a Reverso with an enamel dial in the past months and, even, years. We were a lot to secretely hope that JLC would hear our prays, and that the dream would turn into reality. Such a Reverso already exi...

i like this better

 By: Cookies : January 27th, 2011-08:02
I like this much more than any of the 1931 models somehow because it's history in the making, not re-making. Nic, what's the other enamel piece you have on the post?

Several points, Cookies.

 By: amanico : January 28th, 2011-22:32
Making, and not re-making the History... That is an interesting point. I wrote something bout that in a post to come on the TT 1931, but to make it short, the TT 1931 is a Tribute to the original Reverso, and it is much more, to me than re-making the Hist...

Morning revelation .. Really admirable ..

 By: hs111 : January 28th, 2011-22:59
What an exquisite Verso picture .. Imagine: A gallery- piece in your home, on your wrist ! - mesmerizing tranquility looking out for the new day ! ( or maybe somebody may enjoy it the evening before , given the exquisite elegance..) In a way, you've made ...

My pleasure, HS ...

 By: amanico : January 28th, 2011-23:14
Will try to gather some of these old enameled Reversos, with JLC Help... There are indeed some nice pieces to admire! Best, Nicolas.

this morning piece is a winner

 By: Cookies : January 29th, 2011-07:22
It brings back sad sad memories of the reverso a eclipses "port of Singapore" which I believe will soar in value quite soon. Nico, can u find me a pic of the "port of Singapore" reverso? I cannot seem to find any on the web. I feel that the pieces that ar...

The only port I have in my bank of pics is this one.

 By: amanico : January 29th, 2011-07:57
But I doubt this is this one you wanted... Not sure that the Grande Reverso U.T will be a weak seller, my friend. The 200 pieces may sell quite fast, in my opinion, due to their relative rarity, and because fine enamel watches are not that many. I have no...

I don't care for color metal Reverso but

 By: TdotBean : January 27th, 2011-08:04
after seeing this dial. I can't bring myself to hate this model. Hope there will be an additional release in Platinum to truly celebrate the 80eme. Oh.. by the way you got mail. Best Tyler

I can understand your feeling, Tyler.

 By: amanico : January 28th, 2011-22:37
By the way, the 80th is the TT 1931. But a white metal Reverso enamel would certainly make a lot of people's day, indeed. Best, Nicolas.

Like you, Nicolas

 By: respo : January 27th, 2011-08:18
I also wish for a "white metal version, coming with some blue minute indexes," and a meticulously finished movement to match the dial. Nevertheless, this is a nice addition to the Reverso line. I suppose the RG, the dial, the font all contribute to vintag...

As I said, Respo...

 By: amanico : January 28th, 2011-22:41
Even if I'm not a colored gold guy, I'm surprising myself to love it. But I can esaily imagine how a white metal version would drive me crazy. Now if you add a nicely finished movement, it would be the cherry on the cake, but I already hear some saying th...

fantastic Reverso........

 By: moc : January 27th, 2011-09:46
I must say for my taste only rose gold gives the proper value to such a classic milky marvel. Deeply rooted in the 30s this rose gold version enhance the elegance and retro feel of the art Deco. personally I like it a lot, and,,,it makes me think.....inten...

I was thinking about you, Mo ...

 By: amanico : January 28th, 2011-22:43
And was wondering if it woudl not be the perfect companion for your RG Duometre... Two different but sublime approaches of JLC watches ... One round, one rectangular, both gorgeous. As for the retail, I stated nothing, I'm waiting for the information. Bes...

You are right ,I am torn,....

 By: moc : January 29th, 2011-05:32
because another one could be a perfect pair with my Duometre......2 different pairs with 2 different attitudes.....which way to go? Problems...... Mo

Chromatically speaking, the Reverso.

 By: amanico : January 29th, 2011-06:51
If now you want to make an 1 and 2 Duometre pair, that is another story, but both are good stories, with an happy end. Best, Nicolas.

Its nice but I prefer this one.. :)

 By: Miranda : January 27th, 2011-10:12
LOL...

Uncorrigible troublemaker you are, Imran.

 By: amanico : January 28th, 2011-22:46
Make the 5 minute indexes in blue, the numbers in deep blue, and yes, it may be the perfect Reverso enamel for me. Best, Nicolas.

Yes dreams do come true sometimes

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : January 27th, 2011-10:27
Perfect reverso ... among many :0) Red white and blue in single reverso what more can Croat ask for? Enamel? OK here it is. Red gold? OK here it is. So big thumb up! Thank you for this perfect survey Best Damjan

Are you saying that it would be a great LE for the JLC Zagreb Boutique?

 By: amanico : January 28th, 2011-22:47
Thanks, Damjan. Best, Nicolas;

Now now

...is what I have for this one. Im hoping I get to see it Live. The dial looks so stunning - Im very excited about its material effect IRL. A great report - As always thank you Mr Moderator - what would this forum be without you. Christian

You got it, Christian.

 By: amanico : January 28th, 2011-22:51
Taking a picture of an enamel dial is a very difficult task. Seeing it in the real is the best way to fully appreciate all the subtile beauty of such a dial. But at least, through these pics, you have an idea of how captivating this watch can be. Best, an...

The enamel is really stunning! :)

By: blomman Mr Blue : January 27th, 2011-14:37
Love it! As you know I also is a white metal guy. But when it comes to a beauty like this I could live with a RG case… I think the red hour marks goes very well with the RG. If the blue minute mark dial was fitted in a white metal case – that would be a w...

We are surfing on the same wave, Blomman.

 By: amanico : January 28th, 2011-22:53
I totally agree with all you said. Like this, this is already a tempting watch. In white metal, fo me, it will become irresistible. Best, Nicolas.

Very nice enamel dial and I do like the warmth of

 By: timerider : January 27th, 2011-15:16
the rose gold but the understatement (as you said) of the WG is irresistible! I guess next year will be the WG year for those subtle collectors ;0).. Thanks for the article and great pictures. Best to all, Tim

A reverso with one of the most beautiful dial...

Discrete beauty .. Classic elegance .. BUT:

 By: hs111 : January 27th, 2011-21:20
- despite all that, and mainly because of my allure to white metal, ( blue minute indices to go with blue hands) but sure a very appealing release for some. For me more a 'nice to know' at present, Although: a stunningly low key dial, the artistic retro n...

There is much more to feel than to say about this watch.

 By: amanico : January 28th, 2011-23:01
If I had to sum it in one sentence, that is what I'd say, I think. Like when you're in front of a masterpiece: what happens is between you and it. Best, and thanks for your nicely written input, as always. Nicolas. This message has been edited by amanico ...

Yes- Inside us .. How true !

 By: hs111 : January 28th, 2011-23:32
Thats exactly that ! - I can absolutely relate to that, same wavelength, if I may. I like your comparison with the masterpiece in art: You stand- you watch - you feel - hard to describe, at times. I guess ( hope not over the top remark), something touches...

Almost there ...

 By: sw-rick : January 28th, 2011-01:06
will have to see it during the post SIHH presentation. I'm not sure about the PG either, but who knows. It is of course a more "attainable" alternative compared to the eclipses. Is this basically the 975 reverso, but with different dial? Again, they have ...

975? That must be a typo.

 By: amanico : January 28th, 2011-23:07
You meant 976? Yes, this is basically a Grande Reverso 976 case, BUT which is 0, 1 less large and less high. The only advice I can give you is to see it in the flesh. This was one of the hottest piece at the SIHH. Taking some pictures of it was a real cha...

The best one will be..

 By: chintu : January 28th, 2011-03:09
A nice Reverso Day Date on Enamel Dial with a skeleonised movement visible from the back ( the art deco version)..

Very nicely executed...

 By: Goh : January 28th, 2011-07:05
Really looking forward to see the enamel dial in person. Thank you for this write up. Best, Goh

Reverso Enamel dial really offers...

 By: FanFrancisco : January 28th, 2011-07:43
... really offers us different feel of it... it turns the Reverso into a different life... very interesting indeed. but not sure such Enamel dial matching with Pt or WG or even SS, how will it look like!?! stefan

The enamel dial sublimates the Reverso, in my opinion.

 By: amanico : January 28th, 2011-23:11
As to know how it would look like in white metal, Stefan, have a look on the Langematik Anniversary... Are you pleased with? Best, Nicolas.

i think...

 By: FanFrancisco : January 31st, 2011-01:22
enamel inWG looks nicer yes, i am pleased with that! stefan

Nothing like the warmth of Enamel...

 By: ocwatching : January 28th, 2011-11:22
oh..maybe a white metal one... but I ain't complaining... nice work by JLC... Excellent reporting as always...

My guess is that JLC will read all our comments, and that ...

 By: amanico : January 28th, 2011-23:13
They may have some ideas for the next year to come... Best and thanks for your nice words, my friend. Nicolas.

The total package is very nice.

 By: RJW : January 29th, 2011-01:06
I find the RG case, enamel dial and blue hands combination quite warm and appealing. A WG or Pt option would be nice too but that can come later. Regards, Richard.

Agreed. The white metal can come later.

 By: amanico : January 29th, 2011-01:11
The only point is that the more we are to ask for it, the more chances we'll have to see it coming! Best, Nicolas.
