Hi there,

Just waiting for the review to be consume and digest.LOLOL...

Initial look from the review would give me a kind of complex  feeling towards this watch.Black, grey and pink gold contrast some say special some say odd.One thing for sure the tourbi's bridge is too large in my opinion. There should be a better way of constructing the bridge in order for it to look sporty and at the same time revealing the tourbi in action.

Well, still too early to predict the verdict would researve my conclusion on this AMVOX3.

Thanks Jerome for the fast report and Nicolas thanks for remebering me.

regards,

BHK9

Jaeger-LeCoultre Amvox3 Tourbillon GMT: Power, Beauty and Soul!

 By: Dje : March 29th, 2008-14:50
I've heard that 2008 should be a quiet year for Aston Martin in terms of product launches, so that the aficionados can concentrate on their new watch ! The Aston Martin and Jaeger-LeCoultre partnership has brought us several interesting timepieces in the ...

have to say, I don't love it

 By: SteveH : March 29th, 2008-15:24
It's a bit messy to me. Interested to see one in person though.

initial impression and question

 By: mjnoumoff : March 29th, 2008-18:07
The watch is nice looking and I think the gold hands greatly enhance legibility. How does one set hte alarm (between say 5pm and 7pm) with the exposed tourbillon cage?? Also is the date function a retrograde, or after the 31st does it jump clockwise to th...

No alarm....

 By: sclamb : March 29th, 2008-18:20
I don't think this has an alarm. The second hour hand is for the GMT function. The date hand will jump across the tourbillon cage from the 31st to the 1st. Simon

thanks!!

 By: mjnoumoff : March 29th, 2008-19:20
Thanks for the clarifications Simon. I guess one 'guesses" the GMT hour between 4 and 8? I mean it is not difficult to differentaite between 5 and 6, and 6 and 7. Based on the price of the Aston martin V8 Vantage ($120k), this watch at $60k isn't all that...

Not really

Very nice, thanks Jerome

I appreciate the live pictures of the watch, as opposed to press images. What is the watch behind the Amvox 3 in the last few photos? - SJX

Thanks JiaXian

Thank you once again Jerome, for this comprehensive review.

I sense that this Amvox III, as its predecessor, is something to be seen in th flesh due to it's 3D complexity of design. Although I am not ecstatic right now, I reserve the right to change my mind after I see it next week. Cheers, Asi

Great report! I do like the last minute changes..

 By: Allen : March 30th, 2008-00:27
The contrast between the black and rose gold is very stunning. Thanks again, Jerome!

Thanks Allen

That's the same strap than the one JLC put on the DBS...A nice mix of leather and Cordura... I will order one for my A II! Best. Nicolas

will have to wait and see/hold this piece in the metal before giving it a yay or a nay. At this point, with the addition of the RG accents and crown, I feel it is trying too hard to reach to a broader audience than what it could really be intended for, as...

I think I like it...

JLC has done a great job of putting forth exciting new pieces! Appreciate the comprehensive reports. tempusfugit

Very good one...should i say the best of all 3....

 By: GH1 : March 30th, 2008-07:10
after the innovative glass activated chrono pushers of Amvox 2 , its difficult to live up to expectations and do better ! I will stick with the Amvox 2 although this looks nice and ntg wrong with it . George

I love it!

 By: amanico : March 30th, 2008-07:20
First of all, Jerome, big thanks for your work on this topic, and huge congrats for the quality of your work... This watch, as the Gyro II, deserved more than one or two pics of the press files, and much more than the official comments. JLC is striking ag...

This Amvox III is for me like a Baby Extrem Lab...Esthetically sepaking, but lso mechaniccaly, as you will see on the case back something you saw in the Extrem Lab...The Rotor. As for the bridge of the Tourbillon, too big or not too big, that is the quest...

Will they the Rg part?

 By: BHK9 : March 30th, 2008-08:57
Hi Moderator, Thanks for paying attention to me.Appreciate it so much.... The Rg part in the watch will they replace it with stainless steel ot titanium in long run on normal production pieces??? On the 14th of April...LOLOL....we will see.LOLOL.... Thank...

AFAIK, no

 By: amanico : March 30th, 2008-09:01
As it seems that this Amvox III will be a LE of 300 pieces, with no further development... So it will be the one and only one version. And, the strange thing is, that normally, I'm not a colored gold guy, I don't like it, but this one brings a stunning co...

produce a generation ZZZ watch. JLC are not alone in this, but perhaps the most visible exponent of the technique. I do not wish to pour scorn on other's hard work, but this is about as far away from my taste as it is possible to get (of course Zenith are...

Ceramic Bearings

"The rotor obviously turns on ceramic ball bearings to reduce friction. This feature is now nearly generalized to all JLC auto calibres." When did this feature start?? Without opening it, does my MC Memovox (bought new in January) use this ceramic ball be...

Excellent report Jerome and the RG hands do make

 By: timerider : March 30th, 2008-11:23
a big difference, Oui. I think this watch has testosterone and will be a great car watch, the tourbillon bridge is big but adds to the bold nature of the watch. I like it and can't wait for my AD to get it in. Best, Tim

Amvox III / Extrem Lab

 By: amanico : March 30th, 2008-14:31
Like " un air de famille"... Extrem Lab: The Dial: Same GMT Hand, quite the same bridge for the tourbillon...Quite the same design for the dial... The Case Back: The same Rotor. Interesting, no? Best. Nicolas This message has been edited by amanico on 200...

Yes! nt

I too like it!

 By: cory : April 2nd, 2008-19:02
But how much is it? LOL I actually wanted a AMVOX with design elements from the LAB but did not expect the tourb or rose gold! I think I will need to when the lottery for this piece as well! DAMN. Would have liked to have seen this piece with more black/s...

As everybody knows, here, I don' own any colored gold watch...But Maybe this one will be the 1st! The touches of Rose Gold are very subtle,I like it. I saw the proto with the SS hands, and crown...This definitive version is nicer, IMHO Best. Nicolas

Do you know and are you allowed to give a ball park figure for this piece? I think I am dreaming unless I win lotto! I do love the watch and I love the LAB elements within this piece.... completely innovative!

Honestly, Jerome, I would have loved to second you ...

 By: HerrK : April 1st, 2008-09:46
... when you are writing this new Amvox3 comes to embody the values of Jaeger-LeCoultre : innovation, craftmanship, and pursuit of excellence ! But I do not see where there is innovation. The AMVOX3 looks like an Extreme Lab styled AMVOX with ceramic case...

Yes...
