Wittnauer patina, if I may...
Feb 13, 2015,11:12 AM
I picked this one up at Christmas, because I thought it was a charming deco-flavored watch. It has, i believe, a Revue 73 movement. The watchmaker guessed it's from the 1940s.
I especially like the A-shaped crystal, which casts a nice prism-caused light ray across the dial:
And the peach/copper colored center rectangle, and the subtle three outer tracks:
Hmmm, I hope I've done the image insertion correctly!
I was originally concerned that the crown was likely not original, since it didn't display the Wittnauer "W" logo. But then I realized that it shows the Longines logo. Longines....Longines.... OH! Of course! This was back in the days of "Longines-Wittnauer" in the U.S., so I think it is original.
Anyway, I love the watch, and I hope you like the photos.
