How important a strap can be: The evidence with the Reverso.

I found this picture in my hard disk. An extract of a catalog from the Eighties.

 

On a leather strap, the Reverso looks good. Classic look for a classic Watch.

Now, on a gold integrated bracelet?

Ok, ok, we were in the Eighties, at a time where good taste was not the first virtue.

Don't you think there is a contradiction of style, here?

but with ROMAN NUMERALS, which is quite contradictory to "Art Deco" thought, which considered it "old fashioned." Arabic Numbers ruled the day and on the Reverso, still do. -Dean

IMO the strap looks so much better with a Reverso. the bracelet distracts from the overall look of the watch. Regards, ED-209
