Those long lasting hard drives, what would we do without them !
You just confirmed therefore that both Dial 1 and Dial 2 made it to actual watches past the paper.
It seems that we are moving step by step towards discovering this Euro / US Chronometer 'story'. BTW, this chronometer still lacks a reference code. But if we go by 'Master Mariner Chronometer' however, there shouldn't be no mistake as to the watch in question.
Interesting suggestion also on potential lack of success due to excessive price. Indeed with both a swiss made 18k gold case plus an adjusted movement, that was clearly the receipe for high import taxes to pay for 'Vacheron Constantin LeCoultre Watch Co Inc' to get those into US.
The price was indeed fairly high at $395 (so 4 times the $95 of the basic gold filled Master Mariner, and twice the $185 of the 14k MM pictured in the add above), but not out of proportion for a high end watch. For example the Galaxy White gold was selling for $325 in the same catalog, and we get to see quite a lot of them.
Now, for $3,850 (OK, that's 10 Master Mariner Chronometers), you could get yourself the Split Second Chronograph Perpetual Calendar Minute Repeater that is on the bottom left of the page. Quite tempting !
