Ollech & Wajs were established in 1956 by Albert Wajs and Joseph Ollech. They mainly made divers and pilotwatches, not very expencive, but with relable robust movements. O&W closed down about 1980.
In 1979 Albert Wajs bought 500 cases and parts from Willy Breitling and started making a watch called Aviation based on genuine Breitling parts. In 1990 he restarted Ollech & Wajs.
A year ago I sent my Breitling in for a full service and "needed" an everyday watch in its absence, with O&W "related" to Breitling, I felt that the MP was the right choice.
I like the O&W because it's a "back to basic" watch with a simple handwound ETA 2801 movement, it's a small family owned brand, it's 100% swiss made and it costed me 1/30 of what I paid for the JLC.
