I thought so very different about the salt...

 By: anaesdoc : January 15th, 2010-00:55
being really in wintertime in Germany, Andrew! My association was the salt dispensed on the roads to keep them free! And you show me beach pics, that really got me! So I´m sending some photos from the snowy Bavaria and my cross-coutry skiing trips, wearin...

Same salt, different use ...

 By: AndrewD : January 15th, 2010-14:06
Very nice Sinn. They produce some of the most legible and functional watches out there. It's been a fairly mild summer so far down here. Hope you manage to stay warm. And pass the salt. A

Wrist scan of the week, Andreas . . .

 By: Dr No : January 17th, 2010-11:13
. . . and man, was the competition tough this time! I loved Patrice's photo (very subtle guy, that Patrice!), and Livius's ethereal pic of his Breitling was outstanding, but your working-watch photo takes the cake ;-) . . . cordially, Art

I approve again, Art ...

 By: AndrewD : January 21st, 2010-07:42
Another good Masthead choice. It's a fun but difficult task choosing the best shot of the week. I wonder if there is a simple way to get everyone involved in voting for their favourite photo of the week to be used as the Masthead? Another way to get Puris...

Nice beach, nice watch..

 By: hans_jorgen_1968 : January 15th, 2010-03:05
... I miss the Victorian beaches (I lived in Noble Park around 2000) Cheers, and enjoy the Summer (and the watches) Hans

Then you might remember this ...

 By: G99 : January 17th, 2010-02:01
Andrew, have you tried emerging from the sea wearing the sub and a pair of tight swim shorts a la Sean Connery. thats true authenticity :) best Graham

That's exactly what I did, Graham ...

 By: AndrewD : January 17th, 2010-02:49

Very nice GS

 By: rnaden : January 14th, 2010-19:20
pretty uncommon in most parts of the world. The bracelet does look similar to the current Speedy ones, doesn't it? HAGWE! Richard

Thanks Richard.....the bracelets are very similar indeed....

 By: rnaden : January 15th, 2010-03:05
Definitely satisfying, as it has always been Don't know about the vintage part as I don't have any experience with vintage Rolexes or Omegas as yet.

I think we are all on the same page ...

 By: AndrewD : January 16th, 2010-02:37

thanks Hans. i've got 2 GS's, both 60's both handwind, but 1 low beat and 1 hi beat. they sort of fit into the 'other' category. Best Graham

Dont no much about

Seiko GS, but what is the difference between Hi and low beat? is it 18 and 24,4? Or what are they running at? Cheers Hans

well your pretty much on...

 By: G99 : January 18th, 2010-04:11
well your pretty much on the button Hans, a low beat would be 18000bph or perhaps 19600 in a chronometer and a true hi beat is 36000bph although a lot of companies used to call 28800 a hi beat. Ginger is the queen of the Hi Beat, thats pretty much all she...

Hi Graham That ticking away must be like music in your ears... I believe the fastest I have is 28800 A/h or 4Hz on several watches. But would actually love a Zenith El Primero calibre. Plus must be precision and on a chronograph the resolution. minus must...

I stand corrected ;-) . . .

. . . and let's include Eterna, Longines, Minerva, and all the other manufacturers that produced quality watches for common folks back then.

Nice GS

 By: small-luxury-world : January 15th, 2010-04:06
Maybe I take a "prayer rug" with me: In fact it is an antique saddle cover from Ningxia, but it has lots of "lucky bats" on it ... Just kidding! Two more days, until I leave ... (pleasure & pain) Regarding wrist scan : For today it is the same watch then ...

Enjoy your time there...

It is a Mark, the Roman Num does make you think of Atlas, but it is a Mark, the watches on their website now have a small seconds dial instead of the hand, i think I like mine better still. Some even had blued hands, those looked really nice too. Aloha Bo...
