so the 'hunt' continues...

Today I picked up my mothers Juvenia which I brought to a specialized vintage watch dealer in Amsterdam. The Juvenia did not run correctly anymore, the glass was broken, the crown dodgy, the strap looked like garbage and frankly; I wonder if she ever brought it in for service.
The only thing I know about this brand is that it is founded in 1860 according to Mr & Mrs Wikipedia. In the 1880's they produced one of the first ladies wristwatches. In 1914 they manufactured the smallest movement constructed on a single level at that time. The most famous Juvenia watch is probably the Sextant watch. First one produced in the 1940's. Apparently Johnny Depp has got one. While I am Googling it I see Foversta posted the latest Sextant watch on our forum (where else....).
Now back on topic (Rolex). As my Explorer II order did not go through, although having a crystal clear deal and even paying for it (refund is inbound), I guess I am on the lookout for another one. And being in a vintage watch store......
i saw one sitting in an exhibition case so there was only one option:
trying it on. But I am still not fond of the holes in the case. To me they seem a little bit like they stopped finishing the case while designing it. So I will keep on looking for one with a closed case. And I want a NOS too because I hate other peoples scratches. And while I was there I thought: why not, let's give it a go...:
something with patina. Have to say that the patina of the lume matches the colour of my summer coat nicely. But I'm still not there yet. It's just not for me at the moment. Maybe in the future, only time will tell... For now other watches are on my radar.

A Rolex Week. Monday: Rolex Explorer II 16 570.

Cold, but cool. Understated, too. Not the Rolex we most often discuss, but not the less appealing, in my opinion. The oldest of us will remember that in the late 90ies, it was almost impossible to find one. This one will be on my wrist today. Best, Nicola...
and I miss wearing mine too...

Took the plunge and got my first 'vintage'. Well, not quite vintage yet. It's a NOS from 2011. Thinking about putting it on a white Rubber B strap and take it into the summer sun
Will do!

As soon as it arrives. I might took a bit of a risk going for the slightly modern version but that is because, although not being a lawyer, I don't like holes in my case ;-)
well....no watch...

the Trusted Chrono24 Check Out is not as fail proof as they promise........... The dealer seems to has double sold the watch :-/ I am not pleased at the moment (read: a lot of swearing). To be continued...
So much for the 'trusted'
By: Arie - Mr Orange : June 9th, 2015-09:29
Yes I will get my money back. But I don't want money, I want that watch. So now I'm a bit lost about that 'trusted' business model.... There are worse things in life, but this still sucks.
so the 'hunt' continues...
