It's an awesome watch. Love the Minerva movement. The blue band goes well with the watch. You're a lucky man.

Is there a jumping second on the subdial (0 to 30 min) or a continous counter? Thanks, Cheers, Patrickh
Jumping minute ?
By: patrickh : January 31st, 2011-03:17
you have corrected by yourself, of course Cheers, Patrickh
The Mare is a 2 counter chronograph Patrick
By: BluNotte : January 31st, 2011-07:09
With the minutes counter for the chronograph function on the right, that counts up till 30 mins, with the seconds of the chronograph located centrally. The minutes counter is of course NOT a jumping minutes, only Lange's chronos does that! The counter on ...
Oh?
By: BluNotte : January 31st, 2011-09:22
I certainly did not know that! Are you sure about this? Because AFAIK Lange is the ONLY watch manufacturer who has a chronograph calibre that has a precise jumping minutes counter?! Unless of course my knowledge about watches is still soo far away! Thanks...
Indeed Lange makes a fine jumping minute...
By: patrick_y : February 1st, 2011-22:07
Lange does indeed make one of the finest jumping minute chronograph calibers, the way the minute hand jumps on the Lange is crisp and instantaneous. However, there are other brands who make jumping minute counters. However, most do not make ones that jump...
I learn something new everyday!
By: BluNotte : February 1st, 2011-22:30
As they put it here on the forums! Well, chronos have never really been my strong points, so do forgive me when i am in the process of learning! Even with my Mare, i'm discovering a few rare bits of it that i just might enquire to you soon! Ciao Stephen
I know it's new territory for you...
By: patrick_y : February 1st, 2011-22:33
In fact, I'm surprised that you acquired the Mare Nostrum since it has a 30 minute counter. I recall you prefer chronographs that are capable of measuring longer durations. But I'm sure that with your passion and thirst for knowledge, you will soon know a...
Bravo on the memory!
By: BluNotte : February 1st, 2011-23:23
Indeed, for chronographs my criterion states that it requires a 12 hours counter, which the Mare obviously lack. But did you know that under extreme circumstances i do make exceptions? And this is one of them, just because it is a Mare from Panerai! You w...
wow, very nice...
By: FanFrancisco : January 31st, 2011-01:55
... among all the Panerai, i like this model most stefan

Never noticed before that...

...the model number is engraved between the lugs. I thought this was a new thing for (some of) the 2011 models. Learning something new every day! Nice pics! Martin
The Mare is even more unique Martin
By: BluNotte : January 31st, 2011-19:40
Because not only is the PAM number engraved in the lugs at the 12 o'clock position, the serial number of my piece is engraved between the lugs at 6 o'clock! Therefore whenever i cross my arms or hold the handrails in the train, i cna delight in admiring M...

I can't get enough of YOUR Mare Nostrum!
By: patrick_y : February 1st, 2011-22:13
Awesome watch and such a unique strap - a typical BluNotte timepiece. I love this watch, from the size, to the history, to the delicately blued hands, to the beautiful movement. Truly a phenomenal piece! And I have to mention it again, I love that strap!
It seems that everyone loves that strap!
By: BluNotte : February 1st, 2011-22:32
What a pity it is then that when i leave Tokyo, the BluNotte strap making days are left behind as well! Tears rolling down....... Stephen
Thank you bro!
