Some gorgeous pocket watches
Mar 07, 2013,06:13 AM
I often think of these pocket watches as a very interesting alternative to wrist watches, especially in regard of the pricing compared to the complications.
The 1928 one shows a remarkable case work and the dial of the 1934 is amazing. My fav among all the ones in your post. If it could exist as such on a wrist watch I guess I would have finally found the QP I would go for.
Among the modern area watches, I think the only one that really caught my attention was the rose gold Master 8 days perp. SQ 1833 (skeleton).
As for the new UT Perp. 39, I must say, though I don't usually like black oxyded metal, I must say I prefer the white gold version to the steel one I saw in the metal last week. The Steel one has this JLC master ultra-thin old look that I don't like really.
Thus, I must say the rose gold, with it's egg-like dial is much more appealing. Even if it also has an old touch, I find it much nicer and appealing.
An interesting new model but that I wouldn't buy yet.
Any news about a 1934 wristwatch tribute version to come ? ^^
Thanks for this hot news and the way you bring it to us Nicolas.
I hope you have nice weather in the US by the way.
Cheers,
Mark
