Duometre,a continuos love affair.

 By: moc : October 24th, 2011-14:11
Ever since I saw a picture of the Duometre a Chronograph in a magazine whilst having breakfast in Stockholm,it was love,I knew that that will be a watch I will own.The layout was so captivating a modern classic,so fresh and clean and at the same time alre...

Not bad, my friend, not bad!

Well, I prepared such a post, but will postpone it a bitn, due to yours. Nevertheless, here are some quick thoughts: 1/ I understand you when you say that you have the feeling that JLC didn't play a fair game when they decided to not put a folding buckle ...

Well I agree on 2 points Nico

 By: moc : October 24th, 2011-14:29
As far as the folding buckle,I agree that this pin buckle is well done and I like it a lot,but why this choice from JLC?Because they really realized they didn t like their folding one and therefore they wanted to improve it with the pin buckle,or a little...

Congratulations Mo!

A beautiful couple you put together! Regarding the buckle question, I'm torn in between... On the one side I appreciate the convenience and safety of the folding clasp on the other I'm in love with the design of the new pin buckle. As Nicholas pointed out...

Thank you for rising valid points Ambos

 By: moc : October 25th, 2011-11:03
Nevertheless I don t think JLC treated the Lim Ed QL as a dressier watch, this is the first Duometre to come without the folding buckle,so I don t even think that the deployante was put into consideration to make the price of the black QL. By the way the W...

My thoughts on the deployant...

 By: watchme : October 29th, 2011-06:39
I agree, Nicolas, that the deployant from 1996-2004 (or so), which is a single-blade, fold-up type (still used by IWC, AP, etc), for me is MUCH better than the double-blade, which I find a little quirky. I was told the reasoning to be that the double-blad...

even better than expected

Thanks for the wonderful post, and I even get to look forward to another edition when Nicolas brings his out. So, if you had to choose to keep one, and only one Duometre, which would it be? --Sancerre

Probably the chrono Sancerre

for some reasons I find it hard to beat as a one of the modern classic.... Thank you for posting Mo

Mo, you are a hero for conquering these two!

 By: CaliforniaJed : October 24th, 2011-15:18
The Duometre is at the top of my "someday" list, and you've already got two! They are both stunning. Thanks for sharing them. Best, CaliforniaJed

Your passion for the Duometre just about tip me over from the Datograph. I have been contemplating for ages between the 2(both black dial chronograph btw). The datograph is easy to like but I always admire the spirit of JLC and the Duometre express it ele...

They are 2 different watches Tyler..

 By: moc : October 24th, 2011-23:44
I tried the Dato many times but always somehow felt just a touch too small for me.The Duo has more presence and just satisfy my criteria for a watch. Nevertheless the Dato is as well the benchmark for modern Chronographs and its iconic status is undeniabl...

I can literaly FEEL your passion and love Mo for this pair!

I'm not certain but I think I would prefer the Duometre Chronograph to have the time subdial on the right as I would look at that subdial more and enjoy just having it peek out from under the sleeve. Maybe its just my way of justifying why I haven't bough...

Richard don t find justifications...

 By: moc : October 24th, 2011-23:49
strap one one,it will convince you I promise....as far as the time dial on the right, well that would have been handy but it never bothered me really, sometimes I let the chrono counter run for hours and that is a show peeking out the shirt cuff! Thank you ...

Two great watches for one great post.

I really appreciated reading this post. If I had to choose, I would opte for the Chrono. Best regards, George

I still think that the Chrono is so far the Duometre in my mind too,its more immediate and perfectly organized. The QL requires a bit of time to be fully appreciated and its not as direct as the chrono but once you get the concept behind it you truly admi...

A duo of duometres, what a pleasure to see these side by side, and to share in your excitement. I'm a relative newcomer to JLC, with my Master Moon - and that is the first watch where I've been sorely tempted to get a black dialed version to complement th...

 By: Asimut : October 26th, 2011-09:09

at first it might seem a bit contradictory but as i said,it makes sense if you think of the concept behind the watch. Thanks for posting. Mo

Late to the party here, but what a pair!

Congratulations on a great pair of Duometres Mo. You must smile every time you open your watch box. I throughly enjoyed your post and the photographs showing some very interersting angles of the dials and case. I have admired calibre 380 for a while now, ...

You have to be careful to play with a Duo...

Thank you for this report of love, Mo! I am very happy for you – it’s a stunning pair! I wish the JLC would start with this kind of buckles on their “low end” watches as well. Best Blomman
