In the whole production of modern watches, you still find this idea of amking high quality movements.
From the simple watches to the most complicated and High End watches, as in the Past.
The 101 Caliber still exists.
And the Calibre 849, of the Master Ultra Thin was much more recently created, as a Tradition in creating and making very thin movements:

And later, skeletized:
As for the Credit, I don't remeber who took this pic, but thanks in advance to him!
Then we have some very fine movements, in the Reverso Range...
The Sun Moon in White Gold:
And a more worked version in the Platinum Sun moon:
From 1991, JLC wanted to give an Hommage to the Reverso, by subliming this iconic model, offering it some very nice movements:
The 60eme, with its 14 carats decorated movement ( here a nice pic with its creator ):
The Reverso Rose Gold Tourbillon is another fine example:
And the Rose Gold version of the Reverso Chronograph...WOW:
The idea of the decoration of the movements in Rose or White Gold was even improved with the 70eme ( decoration in 18 carat Gold, instead of 14 carat ):
The Finish isn't bad, eeeh?
And now, for the end, " la creme de la creme", the High End watches...
The Reverso Platinum Nr 2, White Gold decorated movement, and one of the nicest Tourbillon, Cotes Soleillées Finish...
Even more spectacular, the Reverso Platinum Skeleton Tourbillon, LE of 35 pieces:
I really aprreciate this fine work on the skeleton, not as heavy as many others...
The GyroTourbillon 1, a true masterpiece of Horology:
The Minute Repeater, of course:
And for those who aren's still convinced, here's the Hit of the past year, the Duo Metre, that will achieve to place JLC as a serious concurrent for Lange, Patek and Vacheron...
Look at this pic!:
To give a conclusion to this mad post, I forgot, of course, some nice other exmaples, but if you make a search, you'll see some very nice photo taken by Steve G about Vintage Mark 10, 11, and Geophysic...Watches that aren't that pricey, but that are beautifully finished.
175 years of fine watchmaking deserved, IMHO, such a post.
Yes, in 2008, JLC celebrates its 175th Birthday!
Best to you all.
Nicolas
