.. Yes, one more time, (a bit late, but hopefully not too late) to say, how much I enjoyed this post, pics and review:
- That is a , how did you say - ".. small, but strong", and very nice piece, a true character for me, ( must fit you well, I see !!).
Yes, simple, clear and, well - classic, but as well: reduced to its essence but so balanced, all components fitting together, matching well,
forming a convincing composition, although as you and Clavi pointed out, a "transitional" piece.
Transitions often are the best from past and things to come..
- On a personal note, absolutely like these sizes ! Also the thicker case and lugs give it a quite contemporary, no better timeless appeal.
- And the history always delivers a special twist:I am always intrigued, understanding some of the rationale of its genese but even more,
if a piece manages somehow, that the remnants of time are touching us ..
- IMO, to a certain degree , and also in your line-up of military pieces ,( I remember gratefully the pleasure to admire some already)
this one does exactly that !
And yes, great pictures again: thanks pointing out the differences: I guess I would have missed the subtlety of the difference of the hands,
just to name one fact.
Alltogether, another pleasure post again for me in that series, already bookmarked.
best, hs
