The new Memovox calibre, a few questions to Stephane Belmont!

 By: Dje : December 31st, 2008-09:17
Now that the Polaris has reached a few homes, I wanted to take the opportunity to share with you a short interview of Stephane Belmont, head of marketing and development of Jaeger-LeCoutre. I did this short interview nearly a year ago on the subject of th...

I enjoyed the interview AND seeing your new Polaris! Congratulations on both counts. You must be pleased. So, that was a pretty definitive "No" to producing a chrono with an alarm. I'll stop holding my breath now. And it sounds like they will keep the old...

Congrats, Jerome, for this interview and this post.

Speculations? Well... There are some exciting answers, indeed... 1/ The possibility to use some parts of the Extrem Lab innovative solutions in an Alarm watch speaks very loud to me. I'd like a lot to see JLC using some of these new technologies in an Ala...

Super Memovox?

Nicolas, Stop teasing. From now on I can only dream about this watch you just created. Imagine the looks........, the sound........ Just house it in the case of the new Hometime. Make a PuristsPro instead of Boutique version with a black dial. Put the new...

Great post Dje

I thought the Amvox 1 continaed the Cal. 918, not 916? The same as the Master Compressor Memovox? Cheers, Al...

The Cal 916 was born in 1969, if I'm not wrong...And lived something like 10 years... But The 916 was so reliable that it was replaced by the 918 ( Amvox I ) in 2005. So the 918 is derivated from the 916. Hope it's a bit clearer, now. Best. Nicolas

Thanks...

Then the caption below the 7th photo from the top is incorrect and should read Cal. 918? Thanks, Al

Correct, Al.

Are there a pictures of the caseback? I am trying to figure out how the hammer enagages the resonator through the movement of the rotor..... Thanks.

From what Dje has posted sometime ago on the EWA: "But you get more this time. Instead of the traditional case back fixed gong you get a special secret alloy gong that surrounds the whole movement and is fixed by two pins to the case middle. " click here ...

I think I have it now
