LOL, Tony P, funny and very interesting input

No I didn't ask her to marry me, as I know her situation...LOLOL

I completely agree with you on the Gyro II, even if I'm not that surprised as she designed the Gyro I...

But this Gyro II is a very important watch, not only in terms of  horological complexity, but also in terms of finish, and design...

The finish in this marvel and the design are bot awesome, simply and just ..awesome...

JLC put the level very high on these 2 criteria, at a point that when I saw the watch some months ago, I saw it first at 3 or 4 meters...

And I knew that I'll amdire a very important piece...

I looked at this Gyro II maybe 100 times, and each time, I love it more and more....

We are on the top of Horology, with this one, and not only within the watches of this year, but also for the past years...

This is just an iconic watch, IMHO.

As for Magali's style, I find it very interesting, as it is diverse..A Compressor is something, a Amvox is another thing, and so is the Gyro I and the II...

As I said to someone else previously, can't wait to see her next creation, but indeed, Magali and the other members ( we can't forget them) are true great people.

Best, and thanks again for your very valuable input!

Nicolas

I have to admit most of Ms Metrailler's designs are not my cup of tea but I have to admit she is certainly one of the most successful and prominent contemporary watch designers. - SJX

Enlightening, thank you for the interview.

Of Ms Metrailler's designs for Jaeger-LeCoultre, my favourite is the first Amvox2 with the solid centre. Very appealing and nice integration of the revolutionary case switch engineering. Nice turn of phrase, too - though credit may have to go to the trans...

Wonderful insiders' perspective, thank you! [nt]

Full marks, these were very pertinent and searching questions. I'm amazed you were able to stick to the script. Confronted with the ridiculously pulchritudinous Ms Metrailler, I would have probably thrown my notebook out the window and stuttered, "...um.....

What most impressed me were her achievements…

…in a relatively short time of working experience in Jaeger-LeCoultre. Outstanding!!! Marcelo

Yep, Marcelo

A designer horology never needed and would be better off without.

She has created some of the ugliest watches in history. I wish her great success in a new career, ASAP.

thanks for posting the interview Nicolas!

My impression and image of watch designers have been totally revised.Magali is gorgeous!

Nothing's better than a view " in the flesh ", Fernando

 By: amanico : May 14th, 2008-04:45
What you just said reminds me that for some few years now, I promised to not judge a piece before having seen it in the flesh, without having examined it very carefully... The same for people, no? Best. Nicolas
