JLC Duo Metre à Chronographe, the first pics of the definitive watch

Well, not mine, as I'm waiting for the platinum version which will be delivered further...

For the moment, Rose Gold are the first, and a few will be delivered to some few ADs.

But the important thing is to know that they are arrived, isn't it?

And to examine them very carefully, as I did, to make our mind about the level of finish of this so expected watch.

I saw several times the protos, in the 3 metals, I always loved this piece, but let me tell you that the level of finish, the feeling of high quality is impressive on the current Duo Metre .

The first thing you see on a Duo Metre is the awesome dial...

No less than 8 hands, and a dial presented in 2 parts, the Chrono, and the Hour, two zones treated in a different color, as the Chrono hands are blue while the Hour hands are golden.

The result of all this, and the very good thing is that although there are a lot of hands, the watch remains very easily legible.

Legible, but beautifully presented, with a real sense of the balance and the symmetry.

I didn't like the indication " Cal 380 ", just above 6, but while seeing it again, it's OK, it even enhances the balance of the dial!

The design of this dial is very classic, I mean " old school " which is really and obviously the style of this watch, an Hommage to the Traditional and Beautiful Horology.

I also love the double treatment of the case, this blend of polish / smooth gold or platinum.

It adds a lot of charm to the watch, and, once again, enhances the exceptional finish of this piece.

The dial has a lot of life, too, with these different levels.

The stunning thing is that all these counters and indicators are perfectly integrated, which is not really evident to do.

Isn't it simply lovely?

The proportions are ideal...42mm, not too thick, open dial, when I spoke about balance, it works fro the whole watch, of course, not only the dial.

I even managed to take some macros of the dial, and here again, the feeling of high quality, of very nice finish is easily perceptible!

The 3 counters, now...

The Ballet of the Foudroyante is something fascinating, and even more when you think that on this watch, with such a complication, JLC opted for a difficult solution, the Monopusher, at 2.

This solution gives a nice retro look, much nicer than all these foudroyante ( well, they aren't so many...LOL) with 3 or 4 crowns.

When we speak of the Duo Metre, we all refer to the Movement, and here again, it is SPECTACULAR...

The proto was amazing, the current production is higher in terms of quality and finish, as often with JLC watches.

The question was to see if JLC will improve the finish, the answer is obviously...YES!

Are you in appetite?

Are you really ready to go further?

I made the trip inside the movement of this Duo metre for you, and I warn all of you, this is an unforgettable trip!

Let's go!

First, 2 pics of the whole movement, under 2 different angles, to enjoy it as it deserves.

Anglages, perlages, sunburst finish on the plates, this is captivating.

I spent an hour and an half just to take these pics, and to admire it!!!

Now, let's go to the details...

The 2 independent barrels, and the escapement ( one barrel for the time, one for the Chrono )

Now, just around the escapement...Same excellent finish...

2 nice views on the bridges and the wheels...

And, to end, the magnificient Chrono part!

This is not only Horology, but indeed true ART!

When you play with the angles and the light, this is an eternal show, my friends.

You just forget the time, all the people around you, to focus only on the movement and the watch you're admiring.

I didn't had doubts about this Duo metre, but I wondered if JLC wil improve the finish I saw on the protos, and JLC answered in the best possible way, offering us a new reference in the World of Chronographs, beside the Lange Datograph.

And I will end with the mandatory wrist shots, but yes, I'm in love with, and so in love that even if JLC didn't produce the platinum version, this would be my first colored gold watch.

Hope you enjoy!

Best to All.

Nicolas, very excited...
