JLC Beverly Hills presents Highlights of SIHH Part 1(b): Tribute to Geophysic strap!
Jan 29, 2010,06:01 AM
The strap alone on the Master Compressor Extreme Lab 2 Tribute to Geophysic was worth the drive over the hill in rush hour traffic to Beverly Hills. It's one of the coolest features about the watch.
The strap has leather facings on both sides and these non-slip grips that help keep the watch on your wrist.
Here, Kate from JLC is demonstrating the buckle extension system. This is the buckle in the "long" position.
With a quick push/set motion the buckle is now in the "short" position.
The very cool quick change strap system.
Kate shows us how to flip-up and release the strap latch.
Putting the strap back on is just as easy. Brilliant!
The lugs on the watch articulate to three positions, and the strap is vented for comfort.
Another picture of the non-slip material on the underside of the strap.
The buckle has two prongs which meet up with these holes in the strap.
You can see how the straps attach to the case here.
I should've flipped the dual prongs of this tang buckle into the proper position, but you get the idea.
I was very impressed by this strap. The whole concept is about comfort and keeping the watch on your wrist under the most extreme conditions. I thought the whole demonstration was awesome. Special thanks to Kate from JLC for walking us through the nuances of this strap.
Here's a picture of the watch on Kate's wrist! When I look at this picture compared to the wristshot on my wrist it is so clear that Kate and I are like Beauty and the Beast respectively! What can I say? I'm big boned! LOL!
So, it goes without saying that the watch is pretty beefy!
