interesting to hear that "several thousand" of the 159 were made, most for normal civilian use. i believe (yes?, no?) that the photo I have below is just such a specimen? note that here the numbers are blue. [the photos are not mine, but the watch is soon to be mine - I had dismissed it as too small, I've been convinced otherwise!]:
also, in reference to the vintage advertisement in your post:
the E 109 looks suspiciously like the "Walter Sittler" watch from several posts back, although with a white dial.
the E 57 seems to be the same design as your SHOM, but a smaller (ladies??) case...is it a different movement?
One last question!
This is Cal 478, but as I remember the WWW watches used Cal 479. I thought the WWW predated this movement (?).
How are movement numbers derived?
