For the pleasure of Horology and for your eyes only: Some JLC movements

Oct 20, 2008,21:55 PM

It's a long time that I wanted to make this post, to sum the most interesting JLC movements, in an Historical, Horological or Esthetical point of view...

So, I decided to hunt some pics in my Hard Disk, and here is the outcome:

1/ Exceptional movements:

- Reverso Tourbillon Skeleton:

The Fine Art of the Skeleton, at the service of a nice Tourbillon...

Just Marvelous!

- The Gyro Tourbillon I:

An Ode to High Horology,

A new reference in the High End movements:

- The Duo Metre :

One of the nicest Chronos,

- The Master 8 Days Perpetual Calendar Skeleton:

- MMR titanium:

- Reverso Tourbillon in Rose gold:

- And last but not least, the Master Ultra Thin:

The best evidence that a caliber may be nice without being expensive...

3/ Historical Movements:

- A fine selection of gorgeous movements from the end of the 19th Century, and the beginning of the 20th Century...

What JLC is able to do here is!

- 1928 Grande Complication Pocket Watch:

Careful, this is a Masterpiece!

- 1929, the famous Cal 101:

The smallest Caliber in the world!

- ' 40ies Mark 10 and Mark 11 ( Pics to be credited to Steve G ):

A Wonderful Finish for these Pilot Watches:

- 1957 Géophysic: ( Credit pic..Usual Suspect...Steve G once more! )

A Legend!

- 1959, the Memovox Deep Sea Alarm:

After Air, Earth, now Sea!

- 1965, the ..Polaris!

The Myth!

- 1970, The Memovox Cal 916 :

28 800 vibrations per hour.

This is not, of course, an exhaustive list, and you can, if you want, complete it with other great movements, as the one of the Future Matic, for instance, or many others.more modern ones...

Nowadays, JLC has in production, this year, not less than ... 63 movements, and, a scoop I can give you for 2009, 7 more movements will be presented!

Who else can do that?

Hope you will have fun and good time while viewing this post!

Best.

Nicolas
