Amvox 3 ... Boutique Edition.

 By: amanico : September 11th, 2011-00:49
I'm pretty sure you don't know this version. It was introduced in the collection last year, and the first pieces landed to the JLC Boutiques a few months ago. Yes, you read well, this is a version entirely dedicated to the JLC Boutiques, in a limited edit...

Fantastic review Nico....

this version, particularly with the orange bridge, is beautiful. Unfortunately as I have said before, and I am in the small minority here, but I don't like the collaboration with Aston Martin (AM) on any of the AMVOX range. I thought this collaboration wa...

There is something worse than a collaboration, Andy...

And the worse in an ugly watch. My position here is quite simple, not to say simplist: If the watch is nice, I don't care about a " collaboration watch ". This is not the reason why I would go or not go on a watch. I had fresh news from Mr Lambert recentl...

Clearly speaking, I don't understand this watch.

First of all, thanks for the clear presentation, the explanations and the great pictures. Always a great pleasure to read your posts. Now, let's talk about this latest Amvox 3. I really think that it is a dispensable watch. I don't see the point about it....

Valuable points, Fx, about a watch which cannot be seen as consensual.

A Sporty Tourbillon is always something questionnable, and the Amvox III, all versions included, don't make exception to the rule. This one is an audacious version, with this orange bridge, and here again, it may please or not, it iwll of course depend on...

After reading...

The Nicolas's post and yours, I am now going back to read them both ver y carefully to form an opinion. A difficult task. Thanks to the two of you for openning such an interesting debate. Best regards, George

That is the interest: This kind of watch leads us to think.

There is never a neat sensation, it requires some distance, indeed, to get a better aproach of this kind of watch. Thanks, George. Best, Nicolas.

I have done my reading and

On this particular point I feel Co pelĂ©e to side with F. Xavier. The bridge in orange totally godes the tourbillon. In the end not my cup of tea. The first two versions were nicer. The use of orange these days does tend to give things a more modern and tr...

Thanks for your sentence, George. ;) [nt]

Interesting debate

I like this version, because it fits better the spirit of this watch. Inspiration are about automobile and competition, for sure that has already been seen many time these last years with some gimmicks. That may be the only weakness of the watch after all...

Coherence or agressivity... That is indeed the question.

 By: amanico : September 13th, 2011-12:24
But on a sporty watch,we are expectiong more dynamism... And here, it works with a certain coherence. After, it is a matter of taste. Best, and thanks for your input, Cisco. Nicolas.

Well, it certainly is a pretty watch...

but, like the Royal Oak and so many other high-end icons, how many ways can we keep re-inventing the wheel? -Dean

A good question, Dean. Is this the limit of the phenomenon, OR

The expression of the genius? Headscratcher... Best, Nicolas.

Beautiful but ...

The case is out of proportions. The movement, a wonderful one, seems to be isolated by the spacer. Just wonder why JLC is producing sport watches for "giants". They forgot us, the average people? Cheers

Not too big, once on the wrist, Nilo.

 By: amanico : September 12th, 2011-22:35
On my 17 cm wrist, which is a normal size, it goes very well. Best, my friend. Nicolas.

That was what I used to believe ...

When, many moons ago, I got a Panerai, long gone, thank you. I was a happy camper with my Panerai (104 is I remember) until my wife or daughter stated: "Don't you feel silly with this clock on your wrist?". I wish I had more wrist (and body) to carry one ...

Aaah, in this case... ;)

Great depth, as always. Amvox? Love 'em or hate 'em, at least we get the full picture when you are on the job. What is most perplexing about this collaboration is that it seems to be 'overworked'. The Amvox 1 was novel; it was the first to mimic the AM ga...

That is why I always try to have two approaches.

The watch in itself, and the watch in the context. The watch in itself is cool, in my opinion. Some interesting elements of design, a combination of complications which may please, that uis a cool watch. Now, if you see it in a chronological context, you ...

Then, what is this JLC spotted in-the-wild?
