A view on the Jaeger-LeCoultre Gyrotourbillon One.

As far as I remember, there is no other modern watch than the Gyrotourbillon which provided and still provide me such a strong feeling.

To be honest, it was not always the case.

Like everybody, I discovered it in 2004, but I was already seduced by another Tourbillon from JLC, the Reverso Platinum skeleton.

In 2005, came the Master Minute Repeater, and it was love at first sight.

Still under the bad and strong influence of the MMR, but this time in Titanium, I hardly saw it when I had my first visit at the Mecca of Horology, I mean the JLC Manufacture.

I started to turn around the Gyrotourbillon ( which is somewhat appropriate for a spherical tourbillon ) in 2007, once the MMR issue solved, and since then, this is an endless love story, worse, an obsession.

And believe me, I am not particularly a fan of the Tourbillon, which I find to be a nice sophistication, but not my favourite high ccomplication, the Minute Repeater taking the first and most important place in my heart.

How not to fall for such a concept?

Now that we are in 2011, even if it is still rare we heard about the notion of spherical tourbillon, several times, with brands like Greubel Forsey ( since 2007 ), or Girard Perregaux ( in 2009 ), but in 2004, who did reveal, introduce and release such an idea?

The answer is simple: Noboby... Except Jaeger-LeCoultre To read the whole post, please click here:
