Love the N.S.A.

May 20, 2009,13:55 PM

Thanks for these news shots, Nicolas.

That's really a great and very desirable watch.

It would be a good alternative to the Polaris.

Do you know when they will be available ?

I am impatient to at least try one....

Some pics of the N.S.A I just received

 By: amanico : May 20th, 2009-13:39
From my contact at JLC. Live pics. As we didn't speak of this watch for a long time, I tjought that it was of some interest to see it again. Can't wait for mine. As you can see, it is still a proto, and JLC is ending the work on this watch. You will also ...

The first ones may hit our floor in October, Titof

Hi, Thom, A pleasure to see you here, my French Friend. The question is to know if the N.S.A is an alternative or a complement of the Polaris. Obviously, the N.S.A borrows some elements from the Pola, as the shape of the numbers, even if, on the N.S.A, th...

Right precision.

 By: titof70 : May 20th, 2009-14:19
I do agree Nico. The right word is complement. Maybe by the end of this year.... I think that I totally switched to JLC recently. Thom.

I love it...

Can't wait for mine either.

Wow, I.W.C, also this one?

You did well, my friend. Can't wait and these last pics make me a bit more nervous, too! Best, Nicloas

I think...

that this watch is absolutely 100% gorgeous, Nicolas. My only regret is the plain case back, as I would like to look at the movement. But I understand it's better to avoid a sapphire case back in a diving watch... Congratulations, I hope you'll have yours...

Thanks for your input, Emmanuel

 By: amanico : May 20th, 2009-14:10
I don't have deep regrets on the sapphire case back, as, like you said, this is forst of all a Tool Watch... But a nice one! Best, Nicolas

Personally....

 By: MiniCooper : May 24th, 2009-09:39
I prefer the sapphire case back. I disagree with you that a tool watch cannot have it, the 500F is an example. At the end of the day it is a personal preference, I just love to see the movement cheers

Agree on the personal preferences, Pink Panther

 By: amanico : May 24th, 2009-09:58
Some Diving watches do have a sapphire case back, as the FF you mentioned, or some Pannies, too. After, this is a matter of taste, indeed. Best, Nicolas

Nico, question regarding the buckle on this strap

By: India Whiskey Charlie : May 20th, 2009-14:44
Is it 20 mm in width and is it of a brushed finish? If so, it can likely be used on the EWC's rubber strap?...

Will have to check, but yes, it seems to be a 20mm

 By: amanico : May 20th, 2009-14:55
And as far as I remember, brushed finish. But will check this with my contact at JLC. Best, Nicolas

I want one...

... such a fantastic watch. It's nice to see some more pics of this watch at different angles. In fact, it looks even nice than the last time I saw it. Thanks for posting, Nicolas. regards Bretta

It was hell to take good pics of this N.S.A, Bretta

As the light at the SIHH is not that good to take pics. The brands should think about that " detail ", IMO. As for your love on this piece, I can easily understand you! Best, Nicolas

Beauty

 By: Bretta : May 21st, 2009-07:16
yes, the bright lights at SIHH must have made taking pictures very difficult, but the beauty still shone through. I hope i'm in a lucky enough position to acquire this beautiful piece when it comes out, but who knows, times are hard. Have you already orde...

I'm sure you will love it, Pink Panther.

If you live near a JLC Boutique, contact them and ask them to inform you when they have the proto to show you, but I'm sure you will adore it! Best, Nicolas

I was there last week....

but they did not show it to me- but also I did not ask Too busy flirting with something else cheers

congrats Nico, nice watch, but...

 By: FanFrancisco : May 20th, 2009-20:02
but it seems too big for wrist. any specification of this model that can share with us to know. thanks. stefan

Stefan, the same size than a 44 mm Diving GMT.

 By: amanico : May 20th, 2009-21:26
And the same thickness, too. The watch is not too big, this is the wrsit which is too small! Best, Nicolas

This watch is HOT!

 By: dxboon : May 21st, 2009-00:02
I can't wait to see this model in person! It's stealthy yet legible, and has an alarm function to boot! I love it! It definitely is my favorite of the Navy Seal models. Thanks for sharing! Cheers, Daos

Hope to be able to take live pics soon, Daos

The the more I see it ( only in my HD, sadly ), the more I love it... A link beween Past and Present, to me. Best, Sister! Nicolas

how thick is the beast?

 By: time2tic : May 21st, 2009-01:29
lovely pictures. I like this watch very much. I think it is the nicest dive watch produced for a long time. I can't help to think that an all black version with a ceramic case "a la Amvox" would be a total killer. ( but may be more heavy on the wrist).

As thick as a Diving GMT, Time2tic.

 By: amanico : May 21st, 2009-01:31
Yep, an " Al Black " version may be very tempting! Best, Nicolas

I believe around 12 mm thick [nt]

These are the best photos I have seen so far, and they make the NSA seem more attractive to me now than at first blush. I like the strap very much -- it suits the watch. But I would still like to see it on an articulated rubber bracelet or even a titanium...

When the pictures of this watch first emerged, I thought Wow, just what I was wanting from JLC. However, I have somewhat cooled towards it since. I feel that the numerals are oversized compared to the hour markers and the numerals on the existing watches ...

There are many Alarm Watches, David, I agree

 By: amanico : May 21st, 2009-12:27
But one still misses...The Memovox! Hope that we'll see a come back, and the soonner, the better, as it is, at least to me, an Iconic Watch! In the diving / sport range, yes, the offer is very wide. It will allows us to find OUR Alarm, being the N.S.A, th...

I was waiting to read your opinion, David

 By: respo : May 21st, 2009-12:35
Always thoughtful and good points made by you. The NSA has a lot to offer, but somehow it is not grabbing me. My heart remains calm, even though these new photos provided by Nicolas definitely made it more attractive. The MC Diving GMT, however, did not g...

Thanks Respo...

My personal quest is still leaning towards the EWC. I love the amvox1 & 2, but the EWC just ticks more boxes. I feel sure that this is the JLC sports model for me, but I need to be patient whilst I accumulate funds!!! Cheers my Yankee Doodle Dandy!! David

The size of the watch is really relative, Respo

 By: amanico : May 21st, 2009-12:33
As it truely depends on the size of the wrist... I'm pretty sure that on your wrist, as you're used to the EWC, it may even look " normally " sized. The Diving GMT is a very cool wathc, too, and that is funny that you say that, as I always have this discu...

Yes you are right

 By: respo : May 21st, 2009-12:40
This is NOT a serious problem, as I joked above. In the best of all worlds, I think I would get the Diving GMT and a certain one of the Polaris re-editions to satisfy my cravings, but I have to be very selective about these choices and that is all part of...

You may even consider this criteria as a thematic collection, Respo

I would love to see this watch return to the Master Control series (it should never have left)!! That would certainly be a watch I would like to obtain. It is one watch that you see very few of on the after-market, which I think speaks volumes for the mod...

I am certain....

that eventually it would be included in the JLC line cheers

You're right, Pink Panther

 By: amanico : May 24th, 2009-09:40
I don' t see JLC not planning the come back of such an iconic watch. But the question is : WHEN? Best, Nicolas

I would estimate....

 By: MiniCooper : May 24th, 2009-09:45
in about four years. JLC would make a "run" with the navy seals alarm and extreme alarm in several versions and then it would be ripe to re-issue the memovox cheers

change of heart?

 By: emcquillan : May 22nd, 2009-05:04
I must admit that I wasn't intrigued by the Navy Seals models from the initial press photos released by JLC, but these live shots of the NSA are terrific. The black Cordura strap looks perfect. I hope they keep this combination for production. Just what I...

Normaly, yes, they will keep this strap for the N.S.A, emcquillan

Amanico, I have a couple quick questions,

 By: jme78 : May 22nd, 2009-13:48
My first question is what size is the watch? I have read conflicting reports, some say 44 mm and some say 46.2 mm. Second question, how many are being made? I will probably be purchasing my next watch at the end of the year and it is down to this watch an...

jme 78

1/ The N.S.A is 44 mm, the Navy Seals Chrono is 46,2mm. 2/ The N.S.A is a Limited Edition of 1500 pieces. 3/ If you really want it, it is better to put your name on the waiting list right now, as you never know. 4/ The Diving Chrono is not the same watch,...

I really appreciate the quick response. I think I will put my name down with the AD I use. I really was leaning towards the GO until I saw this last round of pictures you had. I really do believe that it is different enough than the JLC MCDC to warrant ha...

Yes, Tony R

 By: amanico : May 22nd, 2009-22:20
To me, even if it doesn't have the name, this is a black dialed Memovox... Like the Polaris and the Deep Sea Alarm, too. It has all of the Memovox aesthetic, even the 2 ( compressor )crowns. Well seen, my friend. Best, Nicolas

Wow, ain't that a thick watch!

 By: Starman : May 23rd, 2009-12:30
Hi Nicolas, It's huge isn't it. Beautifull watch though, but seeing it on your wrist I'm afraid it won't do very well on mine. Good thing is that the price for this limited watch isn't bad indeed. Yep it looks stunning and I could even deal with the navy ...

Bad point for you, Starman

 By: amanico : May 23rd, 2009-12:36
You didn't read what I wrote... I psecified that it wasn't my wrist, but the ( chicken ) wrist of my Contact at JLC... And he really has a chicken wrist. The watch isn't that thick, and if you want to be sure, try a Diving GMT, it is quite the same size. ...

Must have been the wine that blurred my view
