speaking from many years in the detecting trade most jewellery thefts involve guns
Dec 30, 2008,05:43 AM
even the recent harry Winston theft involved a daylight raid, guns and lots of shouting. can anyone here remember the last overnight/weekend jewellery raid that wasnt an inside job. i cant.
the problem is we dont know if a break in occurred or whether keys were used. all useful bits of info. i assume that the report of policeman and staff counting watches during stock take was after the theft and not during.
i'm a bit out of practice in detecting crime, but if i were the investigating officer i'd be thinking...hmmmmm??? then checking every minute in the life of every member of staff over the last 6 months. its amazing what crawls out of the woodwork with a bit of searching.
