First of all, the watch remains comfortable: I like the folding clasp system similar to Hublot which is good point.
Secondly, the lugs are very curved so the watch is well positioned on the wrist.
And... the size is perfect to take advange of the different ballets on the dial.
The
basic idea of the watch is the symetry. Everything is symetric on it:
the movement, the escapement, the dial if I forget the linear power
reserve indicator.
The size of the regulating organ and of the
movement by itself makes such size almost mandatory. Honestly, even if
we don't take into account these parameters, a smaller size would be
difficult in my point of view because the organ requires space around it
to aesthetically breathe and to be even more impressive visually
speaking.
The closest watch in terms of feeling is IMHO the
ChronAP: an offcentered dial, a large case, the two barrels... even if
they are opposite in terms of horological contents, they gave me a
similar pleasure on the wrist.
