I have been following the discussion Here a bit.

But now am really wondering if there is a revolution that you can share? Or have I missed the plot?

I like Breguet a lot

but I'm looking for something more sporty and something fitting with the colours of the car. Best, Kari
I have an issue with watches having
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-02:26
the ETA movement - I prefer having a manufactured one. GP could be nice but the movement is really small compare with the case and I'm not praising how the date is located in the watch. Best, Kari
That would be my #1 choise
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-07:38
without my experiences about AP. I thought the new yellow ROO chrono and already ordered hornback straps with yellow stitching made-to-measurements. But I'm afraid for the third Monday production watch in a row. Best Kari
6000G
By: xxn : May 10th, 2016-03:30
Slate gray dial, always reminds me of classic car dash boards.
Nice. But Injust wish
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-04:49
it would be made either of steel or platinum. I am not really a "golden boy". Best Kari
Hi Patrickh, I am, unfortunately,
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-03:06
allergic to Hublot. It's not my kind of brand. Furthermore, all the watches "dedicated" to something like Bentley or whatever, are not my cup of tea. Thanks anyhow. Best, Kari
A fantastic idea!!!
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-04:48
Inside I have some yellow things... Best, Kari
There's a difference:
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-12:59
I have heard that S.Sarpaneva is in love with Koskenkorva (vodka). I'm not. But there's something very Finnish in his watches. Think about the best known Finnish mobile game producer and their #1 product: Angry Birds. Angry Moon, Angry Birds, Angry Finns....
I wouldn't call it angry
By: Arie - Mr Orange : May 10th, 2016-13:21
I\'d call it melancholic. Love those moons! And a watch like that in a Ferrari like (soon to be) yours is a killer combo. Don\'t forget that another flying Finn driving the fastest Ferrari is wearing a Sarpaneva!
Is he?
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-13:41
Both of the Finns we are speaking about love Koskenkorva. We used to go to the same bar in Helsinki with Kimi and he was normally drunk like a baboon. A typical Finn... I think the moon in Sarpaneva's watches is not melancholic but Hangover Moon. Best, Ka...
LOL
By: Arie - Mr Orange : May 10th, 2016-14:19
Ok, well I\'m hoping to get one anyway.
To get a hangover?
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-14:27
Are you having some Finnish blood? Best, Kari
:-)

Congrats on the car. Perfect! A sporty and black high end watch to go with it? How about something from Richard Mille? My choice is RM035 or RM055 in black. Otherwise, go for something more "classically sporty": Platinum Datograph Up/Down or a 5204P with ...
RM is very unknown to me
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-04:54
ALS Dato would be cool but perhaps it's lacking the elegance of an Italian car. Best Kari
Naturally 5370P
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-04:52
would be best because it costs the same as the car. That one I save for my next Ferrari which is already in my dreams. My 5960/1A is reserved for my 911 Targa GTS. Kari
How about an automatic digital?
By: Semper Fidelis : May 10th, 2016-05:04
...after all, the Ferraris have also come a long way from being strictly mechanical and analog performance machines. Probably produced in even lower built numbers, but with an equally and distinctly different approach to watches as we know them (thanks to...
Hmmmm...
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-05:24
I guess I'm too old and conservative for digital watches. But thanks. Kari
Without knowing you, Dr. Kol, and will all due respect:
By: Semper Fidelis : May 10th, 2016-05:46
The Ferrari California isn\'t exactly for "old and conservative" either... Your exquisite taste in watches is timeless and if anything, gets only better with age and experience. But of course digital isn\'t for everyone. Don\'t own one either. Yet. Happy ...
I always need to remember
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-07:46
that my wife is 29. She can drive Ferrari and I can slowly follow her with my 911 Targa GTS... Best, Kari
It looks pretty cool
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-07:49
but these co-brandings are not my thing. I wouldn't buy Patek suits, shirts, underwear... Best, Kari
That looks technical!
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-07:50
Thanks, I will have a closer look at the watch. Best, Kari
It's a fine skeleton
By: iamcalledryan : May 10th, 2016-08:10
The star bridge is very attractive, and the skeleton gives excellent views of the micro-rotor and it's transmission, and the mainspring which powers a four wheel gear train and a separate motion work. Superb. But for more stealth and simplicity I might al...

Writing in from California, here's an offbeat choice
By: cazalea : May 10th, 2016-07:27
The IWC Ingenieur Climate Action with black Kevlar and yellow stitch IWC, not ETA movement, ceramic bezel, dial design like brake calipers grabbing a disc, yellow accents, AND probably would come with some CO2 offset credits... Cheers, Mike aka Cazalea ...
Thanks Mike,
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-07:53
This might be suitable. In my Ferrari there's so much carbon that it nearly makes me sick. At least my bank account did not like that. Best, Kari
I forgot to mention:
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-07:58
By the end of May, I will pick up one of the ideas presented here. The father of the winning proposal will get a brand new Patek Philippe travelling roll for 4 watches. Best, Kari
Ok, but...
By: iamcalledryan : May 10th, 2016-08:20
...as you have not limited the number of entries I am going to give you a full consultation! Option 4: URWERK UR-105TA
But hey, that's space age!
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-08:21
I am so bloody old that I can hardly operate a chronograph. Best, Kari
LOL
By: iamcalledryan : May 10th, 2016-08:24
Don't be fooled this is nothing more than the wandering hours that have been around since before the wristwatch - it's just dressed in a modern suit! As for the turbine dampers on the back, I will give you a tutorial when you DO decide to buy...

it's better that you live in a nice part of US... Best, Kari
That depends on whether you like Big Apples
By: iamcalledryan : May 10th, 2016-09:14
Happy to oblige if you are in Manhattan any time. There is a particular watch store that has a handful of very apt watches for that car under one roof; including the UR-105 so you can play before you pay.

It will still take some time
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-10:27
before I'll get that. Perhaps in the end of the year, perhaps next spring before Baselworld. I will pick up, like I mentioned, on 25th 3 new Patek in platinum plus one in steel. Additionally, I need to pick up a vintage in May. This is so much, also money...
Hi John. I have a soft spot for BP
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-10:30
and I have been looking at their Evolution line. The sad part is that I bought last year a BP chronograph but I am not wearing the watch at all. Even I like it a lot. Best, Kari
True. I did not realise that.
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-11:00
So BP Evolution is out. Or I need to visit Lambo shop. The good thing with Lambo where I live is that it could be used for cleaning the roads from snow in the winter... Best, Kari
I get the car so much before the watch that another watch is needed.
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-11:28
The coming 5370P is for "my next Ferrari". Now they have a car with 4-wheel drive. Fantastic here. My chooses of cars is quite limited because I need to buy something which can also carry our 2-years old. I proposed my wife today that we would assemble a ...
You don't need a Lambo!
By: vitalsigns : May 10th, 2016-13:15
I once saw someone driving a Honda Civic with the Jaeger LeCoultre Amvox / Aston Martin DBS transponder. And Ferrari is nicer IMO than Lambo anyhow! Oh well...the Blancpain L-Evolution was the first piece that came to mind... Cheers, John
The watch is still open

but the cufflinks arrived today. Nice enamel with five colours. Best, Kari ...

I always carry her ID in my wallet:
By: dr.kol : May 11th, 2016-02:46
Tarja Anneli is her name plus my family name. It's historical. Estonia was for about 50 years under Soviet occupation. Let me give you an example: somebody was baptised "Jyri", a very typical Estonian (and Finnish) name. The same guy used the name "Juri" ...

I'm getting a nice Reverso in the beginning of June. But a blue + white dial is not the best match with a black/black car... Best, Kari
This one is easy...
By: ZeroHour : May 10th, 2016-12:31
From what I know about your taste AND because lately this watch has been haunting my dreams- my vote is the Patek 5960P! As far as the strap goes I think you did a great job with your steel version, therefore I leave this to you Sincerely and Respectfully...

I have three older daughters:
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-22:43
21, 20 and 16. They always help but there's a problem: After giving them a new laptop or phone for adjusting, they normally say: "dad, I think you will not like this. I can take it." Best, Kari
Thanks god they are not interested.
By: dr.kol : May 11th, 2016-01:56
But if they would know what a nice watch costs, they would suddenly be VERY interested. "One Patek=5 Hermes Birkin" would be the logic. Best Kari
The Freak is an excellent option
By: iamcalledryan : May 11th, 2016-17:43
In some respects it's simple. Part of the gear train orbits the dial and the bridge acts as the minutes hand. Set the time by flicking the little plaque at 6 o'clock and turning the bezel, wind by turning the bezel of the caseback. The mainspring occupies...
Do you know:
By: dr.kol : May 11th, 2016-22:01
is the movement in-house? Best, Kari
I am confident, but not certain
By: iamcalledryan : May 12th, 2016-07:16
The escapement is proprietary and the execution is unique to say the least, so it is either fully in house or some elements are bespoke resourced (which I view with as much favor as full in house for specialist watches).

For a change , you may be surprised with something New ¿who knows? , I Think RM can be for All ages, (in fact I would like to own one when I am 80 ) Anyhow sure you choose the perfect one....
My humble suggestion...
By: An77n1 : May 10th, 2016-15:33
Patek 5905P black dial. It is black, sporty with the Chrono function in addition to the annual calendar. It exudes class and with a 42mm case legible and comfortable on the wrist. I think it would be a close contender if you don't already have this one.
Thanks An77n1
By: dr.kol : May 10th, 2016-21:25
I have it. I must say that even I have a 8 inches wrist, 5905P feels a bit big. If I compare it with my 5960/1A, the latter feels much more "right" on the wrist. It's amazing what a difference 1.5 mm makes. Best, Kari
Your experience is more insightful
By: An77n1 : May 11th, 2016-10:12
as I have only tried on the 5905P in the boutique for a moment. Thanks for sharing your experience as an owner. Now I know the 5960P black dial is the one for the hunt.
Congratulations Dr.

I like the Moscow Special but I do not like Moscow. Patek 5170G is nice but I like more platinum. I guess that I will never get 5170 because the coming 5370P will replace it well. Best, Kari

Unfortunately, Journe stopped producing the linesports in aluminum due to the difficulty in working with the material but you can find them on the preowned market. If you want to purchase new, titanium is the only way to go.
