Anonymity vs Public Disclosure
Apr 28, 2014,07:58 AM
Hi kpk,
It's a very beautiful watch. But not necessarily to be waved in everyone's face. The Facebooks and Googles of the world want everything known and public in all circumstances, whereas discretion and audience-appropriate disclosure is more the PuristS way, I think.
A Wikipedia reference to "pearls before swine" (or in our case, "watches before friends and relatives")
"Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces."
Quotation from Jesus's Sermon on the Mount, implying you should not put what is valuable in front of those who will reject its value; further, they will also seek to diminish or destroy what you offer.
Cheers,
