Daos, thanks for the additional great reporting and photos from the event. The West Coast JLC group, staff and fans, is amazing! I have to get out there sometime.
Well, my favorite of the night remains the AMVOX3. What a great watch that is. I agree, the AMVOX2 is still a winner, but I could be very happy with an AMVOX3 on my wrist. I would have a hard time choosing between the RG and the Pt. versions. Decisions, decisions.
While I admire the E. LAB 2, for some reason I do not find it as compelling as many other JLCs, and the loss of the silicon escapement really disappointed me. That should not have happened after the watch was announced. I also think this is an overly expensive piece. At that price, there are other JLCs I would choose. But I have NOT seen this one in person, so I should really reserve judgement until I see one...
The AMVOX5 does not do it for me. Unlike you, I love world timers, but I feel like the A5 was kind of a disappointment after the first three AMVOXi, each of which represented something really interesting with respect to technology and JLC history.
So, does the presence of the Boutique edition of the NSA diver in the window mean that there are some stil left for purchase???
By the way, your watch is just beautiful -- it compares well to just about anything else one can name. You chose wisely. ;-)
Best,
