Hi Nicolas,
Wonderful composition of the black dial E877! I do believe that of the 70s Memovox sequence, the E877 and E875 achieve the most timeless effects. While the E875 appears to be a reincarnation of the prior E855, the E877 blends 70s size and eccentricity with symmetry and visual balance that may even transcend the usual "dated but desirable" tag of the others.
Essentially, we love the 70's Memovoxes because they feel so much a "part of their times," we also forgive their period excesses for the same reason. In the case of the Snowdrop, I'm not sure there is any "period excess" or element that clearly aged without grace. Stylistically, I'd say it stands in the same timeless aesthetic class as the Deep Sea, E855, and Polaris. It's the one outlandish 70s Memo that would look as comfortably situated behind the wheel of a modern car as it does in old photos of panel vans and leisure suits...
If you continue to seek an ideal strap, perhaps a similar model with a finer thread would better complement the delicate details of the dial. As it is, I think your selection is quite attractive. On a personal note, I hope to add the blue dial Snowdrop to my zoo in the future, but that's a rare bird...
Best,
Tim
