Beautiful watch. Can anyone chime in on the thickness of the GT vs the newer ultra thin?
Nov 24, 2014,14:19 PM
I tried on the newer ultra thin, and I was taken with it. It's really light, close to weightless it felt, more beautiful in the metal than in any photos, and both sides were fantastic. The pusher for the hour jump was addictive, as was the feel of the manual wind.
One drawback of the new ultra thin is the whole day night dial. On the GT day corresponds to 6 - >18 and night 18 -> 6. This makes sense. The ultra thin has the day night split 0-12 and 12-24. This makes no sense, and JLC has so far provided a laughable rationale for this, saying the "day" and "night" just indicate what the sundial can be used for. That being said, once I saw the Ultra thin in person, by concerns about day/night vanished.

Team, I keep forgetting this watch and every time that I put it on my wrist I understand why it's so classic. Took some pictures this grey morning: A classic - Perfect size. The dial - love it IMHO, the Reverso was invented to be a ... Duo. A great week t...

Notice that there are two versions. One, more modern version, with a pusher to set the "GMT" (dark) side. Mine, that's older but I prefer, uses a small round setting (that requires a toothpick or the supplied tool) that avoid the unintentional setting cha...
I too prefer the older Duo

By coincidence, I was wearing mine today too! Besides the unobtrusive recessed pusher of the old one (which I like), the subdial on the white face is also rectangular, which I feel fits the look of the watch better. The newer Duo has a round subdial on th...
A definite winner!

Hi Great shots of your Duo. Have to say I agree with you, the GT size for me is great - very elegant. Duo on slightly brighter morning I also prefer the earlier model without the pusher. Though can understand why some might prefer the added functionality....
