A range of Mechanicals but all are ETA/Swatch based

Scott
Thanks for your interest...
I have a range of watches, from a 1970s Rado through to a G-Shock. All bar a couple have been bought 2nd hand and I have them serviced when required by an independent. As you say there could be many reasons for the movement 'failing' but it is also the movement in the JLC - Master Compressor World TImer so should be robust given that watch's 'advertising' but the Amvox does not have the shock absorbing elements of the case.
If it was older stock in the AD then I'm sure they will come back and tell me but I would have expected the AD to let me know at the time that the watch would need servicing before the standard 3-5 year window.
I'm still waiting for Customer Services to get back to me with their view so there is still some 'hope.'

All, If this isn't appropriate to post here then apologies and I will remove it but I thought this might be of interest as it unfolds... Haven't posted for a while, been very content with my small and varied collection. But my pride and joy (Amvox 5) stop...

No problem to post to report an issue. I am sad to hear that.

First Feedback from JLC Service Centre

 By: JLC Enthusiast : April 26th, 2016-11:57
All, Got this back via the AD: ‘To ensure the efficiency of your watch, the following intervention is necessary- Complete service’ No other information as to what is wrong etc. I've also been in contact with JLC Customer Services via the website and had v...

I agree

I agree anything can go wrong and often does - crucial will be the response of JLC to the problem and whether they can offer a compromise. So far, it hasn't been promising.

An update from the AD

 By: JLC Enthusiast : May 5th, 2016-12:54
All Got this back from the AD today (and remember this watch is 30 months old. "JLC are not budging with their assessment that the watch needs a service, they are saying that the oils have dried up in the mechanics and at the end of the day they recommend...

Nearly the final update

 By: JLC Enthusiast : May 13th, 2016-23:53
All JLC are not moving an inch neither through the discussions the AD are having with the Service Centre nor with any discussions I am having with Customer Service. The AD have made a kind gesture which will help significantly but I still would have hoped...

Dear JLC-E, I Am Curious To Know What...

 By: elliot55 : May 5th, 2016-14:51
... Other mechanical timepieces are in your collection? I am curious because I, too, consider myself to have a smallish collection of watches. But you know what they say, quality not quantity. Case in point: Jaeger LeCoultre. For you and me (and many othe...

And the Amvox is back!

 By: JLC Enthusiast : August 26th, 2016-04:19
All The AD received the Amvox back from JLC a couple of weeks ago. They were not 100% happy with it as they thought it was still noisy. So they sent it back to JLC in London for a double check. JLC in London confirmed that it was ok and sent it back to th...
