A parenthesis in the SIHH ballet of novelties: A few pocket watches.

4 marvels I had the pleasure to discover and re discover, for some of them, during my last lightning trip at the Manufacture.

- An annual calendar retrograde date ( the central hand ), circa 1890.

And a detail which always fascinates me with Pocket watches, the reflection of the movement in the case.

- Grande Complication, circa 1895: Perpetual Calendar, Chronograph, Minute Repeater:

- 1907, Lepine Ultra Thin steel case. Cal 145. This movement was 1, 38 mm high, only!

- And to end in beauty, a superb calendar perpetual, circa 1934. I already took it in picture, but I was not happy with it. Second chance!

Best,

Nicolas

That's an interesting lapsus Nicolas! Do you have pictures ? Well, these gold watches are beautiful and when we see what show their movements can provide, they really deserve more attention. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Mark

It's just something about the smoothness and elegantness of it! All are great!! And thanks for reminding us of where these modern houses started! S

I have even older...

Circa 1870: Full calendar; That is the big difference between a True Manufacture and some who claim to be a Manufacture.... Best, Nicolas ...

Great lineup of history! :)

Strangely, JLC gave up with noble complications for décades.... To come back to that theme in the 90ies with the Reverso RG Series. Best, Nicolas
