Jaeger Lecoultre SIHH 2015: Rendez Vous Moon.
Jan 26, 2015,03:34 AM
One name, 2 cases, 2 slightly different watches, but the same complication, a very performant moonphase.
The Rendez Vous Moon is indeed available in two cases. 36 and 39 mm, in white gold. But while the " big " is water resistant to 50 meters, the " small " has its water resistance reduced to 30 meters.
Don't ask me why, I don't know.
Logically, the number of diamonds is different: 208 for the 39 mm, 166 for the 36 mm.
Both cases are made of white gold.
The crown at 4 o' clock sets the time and the moopnhase. The other, at 2 o'clock is dedicated to the " Rendez Vous " time, as always on that reference.
For the moon, Jaeger Lecoultre opted for mother of pearl. The sky is guilloched, then covered with blue lacquer.
The movement is the Cal 935, automatic winding, offering a power reserve of 43 hours, and beating at 28 800 vibrations per hour.
But the most important, on that version, is, as you maybe guessed, the Moon. Here it is not accurate to one day each 2, 5 years, nor to each 122 years, but to each 972 years, which is less than the new record set by the Duometre à Spherotourbillon Moon, with its 3887 years, but, still, quite impressive.
Here are the 39 and the 36 mm side by side, for you to see and feel the difference. You will notice that the dial of the 36mm is different, with its guilloché finish.
And, now, some live pictures of the 39 mm, which I find quite nice.
I am curious to hear your comments.
Best,
Nicolas
