Paris Memovox Exhibition: The Memovox Clocks.

Jan 03, 2011,00:00 AM

I have to confess that I know nothing about these Memovox clocks, but it appears to me that any Memovox Fan should have one, at least.

Indeed, they are here to remind us that the Memovox was not only wristwatches, but also, sometimes, inspired clocks.

Some can be used at table clocks, other as pocket watches, they all express Time in a different way.

They are much more romantic than our usual electronic Alarm Clocks, aren't they?

What I've been told by the Collector who owns these Memovoxes, and which was confirmed to me by theJLC Heritage Gallery is that these lovely clocks were made between 1955 and 1978.

They share with their " wristwatches sisters " an interesting and amazing diversity, as you will see on the pictures below:

Aren't chey charming?

Best,

Nicolas

I'm so late when it is about Alarm Clocks! A very nice specimen, my friend. Exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for. In fact, I found something, but it is still at the spa. To be followed... Best, Nicolas.

A new find?

Congratulations in advance and set your alarms please... January 12 is approaching soon and we are all waiting for your post(s). So don't be late. Regards, Richard.

New ... Not really new.

I saw it 2 minutes some 7 months ago, and I asked the seller to service it... Since, I'm still waiting. It is an important one, historically speaking, as it belongs to a thema which is very dear to me. As for the 12, it would be difficult for me to forget...

Charming

BUT some collectors says, only reason to produce this items - there was too many calibers.

I don't believe in this theory ...

 By: amanico : January 3rd, 2011-02:34
And for a good reason, due to the time they were produced. If the first were released in the Mid 50ies, at this moment, all the alarm movements were not produced, yet... How any would guess that there will be too many movements? No, I rather think that th...

I think you're right Nicolas ! [nt]

I wonder if JLC would ever produce something like this again..?? Probably not as popular today as back then but I'm sure we'd all buy one if the price was right for holidays and fun. When is your piece going to arrive..? Andy.

That is a good question, Andy.

Like you, I think that JLC should re issue some of these delicious Alarm clocks. In a short batch, matybe, but they should do it. As for knowing when my piece will arrive, that is another excellent question. My watchmaker is the only one to get the answer...

charming indeed....
