An almost complete family picture of Vintage JLC Diving watches.

Sep 04, 2010,08:53 AM

I only miss 2 of them...:

The Damn bloody Vintage Polaris 65 and the " Baby Panerai" from Jaeger.

I'm hunting the first one, and will pass on the 2d one, as it is not a very appealing watch, at least for me.

From Left to right:

Deep Sea Alarm Europe ( E 857 ), Deep Sea Alarm US ( E 857, too ), Polaris II Ref E 870, Polaris 68 Ref E 859, Master Mariner Deep Sea Ref E 558, Chrono Shark Ref E 2643, and from the bottom to the top, the Master Mariner Dolphin Ref E 22 059, and the Jaeger " Arrow Hand ".

A pictorial summary of over 15 years of Diving Watches, at " La Grande Maison ".

Best,

Nicolas

There's a site I don't ever expect to see again (unless you take more pictures). I've never seen that many rare JLC/LeCoultre/Jaeger dive watches ever, nor such a near complete set in one place. I wasn't familiar at all with the Jaeger "Arrow hand"... was...

Wow, Nico! What a superb collection of JLC divers! Your persistence for obtaining them was definitely worth the effort! Let's hope you will soon be able to find the elusive '65. The baby Panerai you are referring to, which one is it? I have been enjoying ...

This thread, Hermano. The Polaris 65? It seems that it is a damned watch for me: I was 3 or 4 times close to get it, and it escaped, each time. Yes, I hope to catch you soon, Alejandro, without having to wait till IGOTT! Un abrazo, Hermano. Nicolas

All the baby...

I don't have any literature on them, Ben ...

And I must amdit that I didn't fig the subject too much, as I'm not interested in this watch... You see, I will never open a Museum! Best, Nicolas

Couldn’t be happier for you, Nicolas!

What a wonderful collection photo, even the Dolphin is included! My dear friend, your collection is stunning and breathtaking! And you earned it by persistence and hard work. Please enjoy them and give them a good life! Best Blomman

Well, Blomman ...

YOU have a watch I happen to not have, which would nicely fill the thema... It was a long hunt, and it seems that the hunt doesn't have totally ended. One more step and it will be perfect. Best, and thanks for your nice words, my dear friend. Nicolas

I will not torment you with another pic of the Pola 65… But, yes – with a Pola 65 in your pic it would be perfection! I always try to think positive, think of what a great achievement you already have in your photo. Not of what you miss… Like me – I have ...

So when does your museum open?

 By: donizetti : September 4th, 2010-13:24
Incredible. This is really watch COLLECTING, the whole so much more than the parts. Kudos Andreas

I'm far from opening a Museum, my friend...

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2010-06:15
We have Clavi for that! I'm just trying to build a collection, hence I have to be imperatively faithful to some criterias... Best, and thanks, Andreas. Nicolas

This is awesome, Nicolas!

The only thing better would be if they were sitting in the bottom of a big glass of beer. ;-) Wow! what a great photo that are able to create after much work and much time -- I can only imagine. It must be very satisfying. So, what does the "baby Panerai"...

It is almost totally satisfying, Respo...

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2010-06:19
It would be TOTALLY satisfying if only I could put my hands on this bloody Polaris 65! To tell the truth, I'm very happy with what I have, and I can keep on hunting in total serenity. It took time, money, and a lot of work, but it is really worth it. As f...

What's a baby panerai?

 By: grigo : September 4th, 2010-23:14
Lovely picture and lovely collection, must have taken a lot of hard work to put together. Now what is a baby panerai and what does it look like? Best regards, George

Happy and a bit envious! :-)

 By: dxboon : September 5th, 2010-00:35
Great photo, Vlad! Of course, you know I love dive watches, JLC, and compressor cases, so this post hits all the marks for me! What a wonderful "family" photo! I look forward to the day when you complete this collection, so we can see it in all its glory!...

We look forward to the same day, Sister...

But unfortunately, no Polaris 65 in my horizon... The nice thing with these Vintage Diving JLCs is that they are original, even if sometimes, they share their case with other manufacturers ( and they borrow their movements, a very few times ). There is im...

Damn Nicholas!

So you're the guy hoarding all the vintage pieces! Great collection. What is the "baby Panerai"?

LOL, no, not me, Rovermark...

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2010-06:33
There are a lot of guys here, that you could suspect to do so, but not me! As for the Baby Panerai, I pmosted a pic in the thread... Best, Nicolas

Pictures of the " Master Mariner Lecoultre Baby Panerai ".

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2010-01:08
It shares with some other brands this small case ( circa 36 mm ) which looks like a Luminor case ( remove the bezel, add a crownguard, and what do you see? ) Eta inside. Pics found on the net, don't know who to credit for them. Best, Nicolas...

Your wise friend thinks

 By: Cookies : September 5th, 2010-01:34
You should continue with the entire thema and get the ugly baby panerai style as well.

Well, why should I get a watch I don't like?

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2010-06:35
That is an excellent question, Cookies. To imperatively complete the collection? Not a good reason enough, for me, as I wear ALL my watches, and I don't see myself wearing this Baby Panerai. Best, my wise friend. Nicolas This message has been edited by am...

I see it another way around

 By: Cookies : September 5th, 2010-06:49
It'll make a nice complete collection that can be a great set to be coveted for. I think you'll be the only one the the world to collect the entire theme, through it's development, good and bad. I do agree it is a very unattractive piece, and maybe becaus...

Sadly, Cookies, there was one for sale, maybe one year ago

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2010-06:51
And believe me, the asked price was not reflecting the " aesthetical qualities " of the watch! Yes, I know what you mean, and of course it sounds logical, but on another side, who knew the existence of the Baby Panerai here? Best, my friend. Nicolas This ...

knowing it exists is a tough one already

 By: Cookies : September 5th, 2010-07:12
I never knew the existence until you wrote about it. I don't know where you get all your info, but seems like the Eqyptians or Martians have been feeding you with it, not the internet. Have a good one Signore.

fantastic Nic

you did very well and worked hard on that -well done. What a great theme. Christian

You have great taste, Drew.

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2010-22:39
The DSA Europe is a very elegant Diving Watch. Even more elegant than the Polaris, to me. Best, Nicolas

Nic, you need to get in touch with Jerome to set up a JLC musuem!

 By: patrickmaniac : September 6th, 2010-06:47
Once again, amazing collection and pics. If the museum idea does comes to life, can I be granted a permanent free entry? :P cheers! PAt

This will never happen, Patrick

The idea to open a Museum, I mean... But if it happens, I will let you know, with pleasure! Best, Nicolas.

Having seen your watches separately before didn't stop me...
