A Klimt on your wrist or on your chimney?

As you know, this year, JLC presented a LE of the Atmos, " the Marquetterie "...

I'd better say 3 LE Atmos Marquetterie, all 3 inpqired by Gustav Klimt Masterpieces, " L'Accomplissement ", " The Kiss ", and the " Adele Bloch- Bauer Portrait "

Here, the Adele Boch Bauer:

But for those among us who want to live with such a Masterpiece on their wrist, there is a solution...

The Reverso à Eclipses!

JLC presented during the last SIHH the " The Kiss " Reverso à Eclipses.

It just landed, a few days ago, and I had the opportunity to take some pics of this beauty.

The ggod thing with the Reverso à Eclipses is that you have a " 2 in one " watch.

You don't want to see every day the magnificient work on enamel?

No problem, just turn the thin crown just above the main crown, and you'll have a different watch!

Please note that of course the dial can be entirely closed, but I choosed to take these pics to illustrate the possibilities...

With such a piece of Art, let's guess that the watch will be worn and amdired most of the time with the dial in the open position...

And it's just a Marvel!

As you need some place to admire this enamel work, JLC choosed to house it in a XGT Case.

And for once, I think that RG is the best choice for this watch.

Let's have a look at it, now...

Yes, for me, at least, the combo RG / Yellow Brown Enamel Dial / BRown Crocodile Strap, and RG Folding Buckle is the best!

A lot of warmth, harmony and elegance, IMO...

I don't see this dial on a platinum case, as it is too brown, too yellow to nicely match with a white metal case.

Furthermore, it gives a nice retro look, very " à propos " on this Reverso.

So, A Reverso is a 2 sides Watch...

You know one side...

But the other Side?

Ok, here we are...

Nothing else than a solid case back with the engraving of the LE Number ...Here a Lucky Number...LOL

So, you won't see the Caliber 849 beating...

A pity?

I don't think so, as the most important thing on this Reverso is the dial!

So, A Klimt on your Chimney or on your Wrist?

Best.

I'd go for the wrist!

If someone told me about this reverso, without showing a picture I really wouldn't pay any attention. But IMO this watch looks great. If I had the choice I'd rather had the JLC on the wrist and the Klimt on the wall of course. Thanks, Starman

LOL, Starman, you and Lutz are 2 Greedy Guys, indeed!

It would be the ideal, indeed, but only one of those 2 would make me day...Even if not already a piority for the moment... Best. Nicolas This message has been edited by amanico on 2008-11-06 02:54:19

I love the reverso but wonder how much this model cost?? The table clock is also a work of art with a standard of workmanship that is incredible. The various woods used in this construction are amazing. This clock is featured in the new 2008/2009 catalogu...

My selection is obvious... I don´t have chimney!!! LOL

... in miniature, beautiful. Thank you. N

I would have designed it slightly different

 By: Grant : November 6th, 2008-04:47
I would have designed this watch with clear sapphire hands so you can see the whole picture with out the black hands covering up part of the picture and then made the face out of thin black onyx so the hands could be read against the black face when the c...

Either On My Wrist Or On My Chimney

For something that beautiful, I don't mind having it anywhere, as long as I have it. Klimts have really appreciated in value recently, there was a piece by Klimt that fetched over $100 Million USD at auction just a few years ago.

Cool on the wrist

Amanico, Thanks for the update. The Kiss is particularly fetching and 'secret'; it can look quite plain until you want to reveal anything. Now we only have the Accomplishment to come...... MTF

Thanks for your input, MTF!
