One of my target, this year, was the Amvox III, as an Happy owner of the A I and II...
So, ok, on the pics, the A III is a nice watch, but the question was...Does this watch speak to me?
The answer is defintely...YES.
The 1st evident thing is the big and very pleasant contrast between the black ceramic case and this little touches of rose ( crown, hands, and tourbillon bridge).
Contrast that you also find on the dial, so the watch has an obvious coherence and harmony.
Then you begin to have a closer look at it...
The dial is an evocation of the Aston Martin radiator grids, as the bridge of the tourbillon, which is another echo to the Automobile world, or the 270 degrees center part of the dial, shared with the A I, and II...
Esthetic is a thing, horology is another awesome characteristic of this watch...
A nice tourbillon, with a GMT function, designed in a sporty way.
I have to admit that I was a bit surprised to see such an association, and that is the point that I wanted to check in Geneva, in live.
Would this presentation of the tourbillon be appealing for me, or disturbing?
Now, I have the answer, and I'm totally convinced about the assocaition of a tourbillon in a sporty ambiance.
A closer look at the Tourbillon, and its perfect finish...
The Case Back reveals the same qualities, of finish and esthetics...
Once again, as for the case and the dial, JLC played the card of the contrast, even for the design of the movement..
I like a lot the Rotor of the Extrem Lab, which adds a lot to the originality of the movement.
I appreciate the finish, too.
There are a lot of details to discover, to admire, which requires a lot of time to really appreciate.
Back now to the whole watch, this is indeed an Amvox, in its psirit, but also in its strong but refined presence.
This is this blend that makes me love the Amvoxes.
When I first saw it, I was thinking, as many of you, at the Extrem Lab...
The Extrem Lab has more a look of concept watch, IMO, as this one is more refined, and less innovative, of course.
What I tried to catch , on the last pics I will now post, is the presence and the strong look of this beast.
I'm once again, totally convinced.
Presence on the wrist, also...Not a big and vulgar watch, but comfortable, and light...A real great pleasure!
A last word about the strap...
I often said that the strap was the weak point on a JLC watch...
On this one, this is not true.
The strap is a mix of Cordura and Leather, the design is perfect for the A III, as it was for the A II DBS, and JLC had the good, the excellent idea to play, once again, the card of the contrast, as this black strap is fitted with a Rose Gold Folding Buckle..
.
So, I can say that there is no mistake in this watch, the concept of the Amvox, of an original, elegant, soprty watch is perfectly respected.
This will be a Hit, IMO.
Thanks you for reading!
Best.
Nicolas
