The Squadra " Polo Fields ", some thoughts and pics, and a surprise.

I waited to see it in the flesh, to have a definitive judgement on this piece.

I had the time to see it a lot of times, to take it in pics, to judge it.

Definitely, this is a very interesting piece, with much more positive points than negative.

What I appreciate is the concept...A chrono and a world time function, these are 2 pleasant complications, to my eyes.

The fact that these 21 complications are housed in a Squadra case is also a good point, it gives to the watch a sporty, but also elegant look, a touch of youth...

With the Polo Fields, JLC go a bit farer than with the Squadra WT released 2 years ago The 1st Squadra WT: Image Hosted by ImageShack.us As you already know, this 1st Word Time was released in a LE of 1500 pieces. The look and the philosophy of this WT is a bit different than the new one. The dial is executed in a more classic way, with its 2 finitions, and the verso dial which is not transparent. As for the case, this watch is monochrome, with titanium grade 5. With the Polo Fields, you have a kind of concept watch look. The dial looks more technical, as it is made in carbon fibres. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us The Verso Dial is also treated in the same way, more technical, as the transparent disc of the cities of the world ( and some major Polo Grounds ) let show the caliber 753. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us And the case is also something stunning and very interesting, with the contrast between the ceramic support, and the titanium case... Yes, I appreciate this presentation a lot, this is not a " normal" watch you feel you have something very different and special with this watch. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us I do prefer the Verso Dial to the Recto, as I find it really magnificient! And on the wrist, here's the big surprise....The watch is big and thick, but you have no problem to wear it. I definitely don't like the articulated rubber bracelet, as I prefer a smooth and normal rubber strap, or even better, a nice Black Crocodile... Maybe with a charcoal grey crocodile strap, the watch will look perfect, but you'll have to make a special order... As the titanium is used for this squadra, the watch is very light to wear , and doesn't move on the wrist... Yes, this was a true good surprise! Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Now, the surprise... I didn't see on the web any pic of the Rose Gold version of this watch, so I took some, as I had the pleasure to discover it in Geneva... Image Hosted by ImageShack.us This version is simply awesome... The contrast between the Rose Gold and the black ceramic is simply marvellous. It gives an interesting warmth to this watch, with always this touch of technicity, of " concept watch " look... I spent a lot of time to judge it, to admire it, and I wasn't deceived. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us While the Recto size does'nt change from the Ti version, the verso is treated in a different ways, as the disc is divided in 2 different colors...White and gold, to match with the Rose Gold case...Nicely done! Image Hosted by ImageShack.us I don't know what version I do prefer with these 2 squadras, as they are both very appealing, very speactacular, as previously said, but different, too. The rose gold gives to the squadra a less discrete look, of course, but a warmer look, too... Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Here a view on the case back, spectacular, too! Image Hosted by ImageShack.us On the wrist...Perfect, elegant, a bit sporty too, amazing...The weight is of course more important due to the Rose Gold, but it fits perfectly the wrist. Another surprise! Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us So, as to conclude this post, I have to say that when I saw the pics of this Squadra, I wanted prudently to reserve my final judgement with a live experience. Now I can say that this watch has more good points than negative points. I love the concept, I appreciate a lot the look, the complications, the presentation. As for the less goood points: I'd prefer a different recto dial for the rose gold, a nice charcoal grey crocodile strap, and a titanium buckle for the titanium models, as the buckle is in SS ( bad point). The Verso dial is simply gorgeous, the carbon recto dial on the titanium is less gorgeous, BUT it gives to the watch a technical look which is something good. This watch even if it's big and thin is easiyl wearable, it will just require a normal wrist. For a smaller wrist, it will be too big. But it was a good surprise, as I thought that my normal sized wrist wouldn't accept this watch. An ultimate precision, the titanium is not limited, while the Rose Gold is limited to 500 pieces, in hommage to Eduardo NOVILLO ASTRADA. Best, my friends. Hi, I quite like the Titanium version. I'm not tempted by the pink gold one, strange as I love the Amvox3 and generally like pink gold. This is a watch you can't judge before it is on your wrist. If you can't afford it, don't try it! Dje

Agree, Jerome,

A dangerous watch! I'm still hesitating on this one...It will depend of my final choice. Let's say that for the moment, it's one of the 2 or 3 contendant of my personnal race to my basket! LOL Best. Nicolas

Nice Nicholas

Nicholas, I agree that is a dangerous watch! What are the other watches in contention for the basket? Regards, Chris

Well Chris
