Here is mine . . currently in getting a tune up and can't wait to get it back home smile

And I know it's not everyone's taste, but that darn orange hand that seduced me on the 1655 convinced me to grab his younger and bigger brother as well smile

 By: Bill : February 23rd, 2013-13:52
Affectionately referred to as the "Steve McQueen". Here is an nice example of the early straight seconds hand version from the early 70's....

Lovely. A great watch, totally misunderstood when in production.

Maybe this is the reason why I love it so much! Here's mine: If I can, I wil try to find a second one... I am still hesitating between a straight second hand, like yours and the rail dial... Best, Nicolas. ...

If I am guessing right MK4 lovely

I have wondered when the cutoff from straight seconds to bubble seconds occurred. Best Bill

Now very much appreciated with collectors worldwide. Bill

Enjoy it well! Best, Jon

The crown on the MK2 version is an ineresting one

It sort of has drop in the last leg. Looks like a drunken crown. Best Bill

What a clean example ! Wow...

here's my late 1970's rail dial, with a faded orange hand I'm not always looking for watches with box and papers, but this one came with everything.... ...

Mine is complete also

 By: Bill : February 24th, 2013-06:53
Came to me as a full set box and papers. It also included the original bracelet and end links. I like both the original thin bracelet as well as the thicker one I have on the watch. Best Bill ...

Very nice my friend! Cheers, [nt]

 By: G99 : February 25th, 2013-12:07
yep, not much black left in it. its only recently been serviced, but he wanted several things left original like bezel, hands, dial. it was passed to him after his father in law died so it stays on his wrist 24/7. best G On 25 Feb 2013 20:04, "www watchpr...

Great looking watch

 By: Bill : February 25th, 2013-15:51
I don't see any harm leaving it as it is. The only thing could be done ab=nd keep the originality and feel is to get the bezel re enameled. Best Bill

my brother will never change...

 By: G99 : February 26th, 2013-01:22

I have yet to see its modern brother in the flesh. Thanks for sharing. Bill

You know, I had never ever observed the differences with the straight second hand!...

......awful scan....from my days when i could make even Claudia Schiffer look ugly ...

have put it back on bracelet...

 By: Baron - Mr Red : February 27th, 2013-11:30
.....seems to suit this one well. Not one I have loved in the past, but actually am finding myself with it more and more. I think its a watch that takes some time to learn

It is more sober with a bracelet,

Colder than a Nato, too. But the choice is good. As for the watch in itself, I agree. It took me years before finding mine. But now, this is one of my favourite Vintage rolex. A must have, in a vintage Rolex collection. Best, Nicolas

Helo Bill! Beautiful example you show here!

Always wanted a straight hand 1655... Would love to have such a nice example like that Cheers Sam

I has a solid place in any collection

 By: Bill : March 1st, 2013-13:58
It is a simple one to collect unlike a Daytona with 25 variations. You can really nail it with one or to small variations and just focus on quality. I know a lot of people don't look at it that way but I feel you have a good chance to get a good example. ...

Yes, there are 2 big variations.

 By: amanico : March 1st, 2013-14:12
Straight second hands, like yours, and the rail dial, which has the bubble second hands, too. Best, Nicolas.

That is true Bill...

 By: i_am_Sam : March 1st, 2013-15:52
Although a nice straight hand like yours would be very nice to add... I love the earlier one with straight hand and thicker font on the bezel But patience is needed to find a good one Sam
