Enjoying a little gilt today. Join in with some gilt(y) pleasures. I need to start work on the Rolex 1675 Gilt era. Soon. Best Bill...

we're looking forward to reading your article. Great watch Bill ! It would even match your boat ;-) ...

Very transitional year for Rolex not great for wine....

 By: Bill : December 6th, 2012-12:15
It marks the end of the transition of materials to a large extent. But all these extra markings , extra Swiss, exclamation and underline are still a subject of discussion but at least the general time period seems t be between 1960 and 1963. Any thoughts?...

Well, I can join in tomorrow.....

A friend of mine has one Underline, Radial and Double Swiss silver and gold... these are beautifull and rare watches! Big Congrats ...

Very nice one indeed

I will have to include it in my report. I am guessing 1963 also. Please PM me the details so I can reference it. HAGWE Bill

My focus will be just on the 1675 gilt era. now ... the question

 By: Bill : December 7th, 2012-14:34
Defining the boundaries will be the first challenge. I know when then as 1967 is a safe date. For the start of the 1675... A+ Bill

Even 1967 raises some questions.

It seems that some 1675 came with a matte dial, at this moment... Not an easy year! ;) Best, Nicolas

On that, I agree. ;)

Bill- I am doing a short story on the GMT double swiss. What a rare bird. Congratulations on yours! Would you mind if I used your picture? Also what else can you tell me on the double swiss? How many were made circa? I think they were made in 63 only? Any...

Looking forward to your story.

Not sure how many double swiss are out there in the wild but not too many. There rumor that one similar to mine has a third swiss on the edge of the under the case. It seems like they are in the general 1963 period. Bill Ps feel free to use the picture.

Bill, allow me to joiin the double swiss party...
