I have loved the design of this piece for along time. Recently, I have been looking at getting one. The photos that I have seen have made me lean more towards one in R/G, what are your individual thoughts? I have spoken with 4 UK AD's two of whom have the...

Is the 5127 not a very popular Calatrava? Regards Tony

Have a look here, my friend: Yes, it is a very interesting reference, if you ask me, but I would prefer the 5196, amd even more the P. The date on the 5127 is the noly thing whch disturbs me, hence my preference. But if the date is not an issue for you, ...

Patek owners are aloof.... it goes with that Patrician outlook

Hello! I understand the question and I have the same sentiments however you need to understand the following - Patek owners are the most aloof people on earth. It comes from being Horologically superior and from knowing how superior they are compared to o...

All Pateks are good for normal daily wear within their given performance parameters imho. They are built solid and reliable. Always prefer RG here and as for being hard to get, it seems Patek does a production run of certain models and so there may be mom...

Nicolas, I did think that was the probably reason, so forgive my duplicate post, so soon after the previous one. And to answer your question, a watch for me needs to have a date function, as I don't tend to look at my phone/calender etc. The hardest part ...

You need to see it in the flesh before deciding anything, my friend.

A big part of the interest of this watch ( as any other watch, by the way ) is its proportions. Will it sing to your ears, or nor, only the in the real experience will tell you. Keep us updated! Best, Nicolas

In my view, the 5127 is the most beautiful Calatrava in the current lineup. Perfect proportions, very readable, understated yet elegant, and can go with everything. It's simplicity at it's best, and all you ever need for an all-around watch. If I was to h...

Many thanks w220......

That is what I wish to read :) Simplicity is usually the best. :) Currently experiencing what can go wrong with onboard computers in my car. I would take simple over complicated most times.........Unless of course it was a 5207P :)

Hi Topcat, Thanks for the comments on 5205. I am surprised that legibility is not so good. It looks very crisp and sharp on the photos. Let me ask you, if you get 5127 are you still going to keep your 5205? If the answer is yes, than I would definitely go...

oops, here you go....

For me the 5127 in RG is a timeless classic that exudes class no matter how you look at it! Cheers,

For sure a very classical one ...

but it wouldn´t be my personal choice. I miss the "spice", the "sex appeal" ... and even when I can appreciate it for what it is, it is not me. "Difficult to get" Not sure about this, but maybe today ... Good luck with your decision, Tony! Oliver
