5056P had a very limited production I believe

5056P is a very nice watch which I am very fond of. Mine is currently at the home base in Geneva for a service. I very much look forward to get it back ship shape. The size is relatively small by todays standards. I find it however very nice on the wrist and it seldom attracts attention except mine - the dial is beautiful. A perfect watch for formal occations or in the office. I have not tried the 5146 but it looks much the same except for its larger case and the lack of roman numerals. I like the roman numerals a lot!

I think 5056P was a limited edition. As Patek almost never informs on the numers produced we can not know the production. The following is a quote from Christies: Reference 5056 was in production between 1998 to 2006. According to research no more than 300 examples were made.
in total.

Good luck

Morten

5056P & 5146

Dear all, I'm not usually a reader of the PP forum; however, recently, I've been trying to learn more about it to figure out what all the fuss is about. One of the complicate functions by PP that I personally am hugely fond of is the Annual Calendar. It i...

5056 is not limited, bigger is not better ...

A lady AD gave me her, honest, opinion about large watches: " Vulgar" she said ... This might not apply to all big watches but still it is a different "need" that is served by them ... Back to your inquiry: 5056 is not limited, was the first release of an...

PP5146

I just got a 5146P so I'm a little biased. I looked at both models but liked the dial better on the 5146. I got a 2007 model that had the 315 movement if you want a slower beat. I don't think the 5146 is that much bigger in my eyes at least. Either way I ...

Oh one thing more: it is fusscination you mean, don't you... ;-)! Regards Moritz [nt]

platinum production

I've read that quote in the past from Christies. I've also heard too that 5146P production is probably around 10% of total 5146's out there so that's a pretty low number too if correct.

The 5056P only came in Platinum, the dial was the first time around they used that slated gray similarly used in the 5146 but slightly different tone. I think the 5056P is one of the best PP ever, perfect size too. Expectation is around 1000 pieces done 5...

Best Annual Calender from Patek, ............ innovative design, inexpensive, subtle but elegance, easy to use & the Roman characters are just so classical! Estimated about 200 pieces were produced each years. Down point is the over reflectile glass! Wris...

and chosen wisely although there was no wrong answer here. The 5056P was my first love from Patek and it still grabs my heart every time I see it. Enjoy it in good health

Congrats!

Congratulations to your annual calendar! Yes, that bothers me also a lot at times, the reflections from the saphire. It can nearly spoil a watch ... very annoying. Regards Moritz

I am the owner of a 5056p too ...

because I thnk the size is perfect. I think the 5146 is a tad on the big size. Lately I have been thinking of off loading it to free up some cash for another piece. However, having seen all these posts, I am having 2nd thought again. Cheers! WS
