Haven't posted here in many, many years. However, since you credited me with some pictures that I stole off the internet in the mid-2000's, I'd figure that I can show a couple that I took of my own Ref. 2179/5 example, for which you can give me credit:
According to the family of the original owner, from whom I purchased this watch, this engraving references a military basketball tournament held in March 1946.
These are very solid watches and if properly serviced make good daily wearers.
