An Unsual Impulse Buying .... seamaster calendar

Hi All,

Just would like to share my new acquisition... sorry for the crappy iphone pic. It is unusual for me to buy seamaster instead of constellation, but I've been wanting seamaster calendar for long time and always have an excuse not to buy one. This time, I just give up, the price is reasonable as well. I haven't added anything for vintage collection for almost 1 year... well partially because I have new baby in the house so that I tighten my selection criteria. My last one before this is what I posted before, an Omega Constellation 168.0065.

So here we go, a seamaster calendar, Cal 502, 17 jewel, with big seamonster logo on the caseback. What attract me is the black dial which I hope its original seeing that it almost semi tropical under sunlight. To my disappointment, the movement needs some servicing vs what my local seller said that this is fully running, but he doesn't joke when he said that the dial has aged. Its running though quite accurate though. The case is quite rough especially the edge of the caseback as proven that the watch has been opened without the correct tools in the past, but good to see it is unpolished or at least not over polished. The crystal has an omega logo as well so its original. Maybe need to find one with the magnifier for the date smile

Regards,

Sherwin

Love those black dialed with gold hands and markers. Hard to find here in the tropics where those dials suffered a lot with hot and wet climate. Congratulations, Nilo

Thanks Nilo

yes, I love black dial as well.... partially due to the uncommon fact of vintage black dial but also the unique of color when they aged well.... tropical dial is so tempting :) Regards, Sherwin
