what's the colour of the never-seen bottom plate of a sandwich dial?
Feb 25, 2008,06:38 AM
again according to what i remember, the lightness of colour of the dial which the luminova is applied onto, is one of the few factors that affects the performance of its brightness.
since the sandwich dial design makes it possible to have the luminova indexes with a dark and perferrably matte background for better visual contrast while the actual plate on which the luminova is applied can be in a completely different colour, eg natural stainless steel or white.... does anyone here know whether this would be one of the reason behind the innovation of sandwich dial??
i'd also be curious to know the colour of the sandwich bottom plate is in fact as what i assumed.

i remember that over-exposure to direct sun light in the long term makes the coating?/binders? of the luminova turns brown/grey. the pam book also says not to put our pam under direct sun... i think it's for the reason to keep the leather strap in good co...
