Hi all, this is not my watch. I borrowed it from a friend to take pictures. I really enjoyed shooting these pictures, it's such a photogenic watch. Some background info: P2002/3 Manifattura movement, 8 day power reserve, hand wound, date with cyclops, no ...

And awesome photos, as always.

I think you are the best photographer of Panerai watches

Hi Martin, Thanks for sharing these great photos. I have seen some of your previous photos on Paneristi, and I must say that I don't think anyone else has ever documented the form and spirit of these watches as well as you. The quality of the light that y...

I appreciate that a lot. Thank you. But there are many really great watch photographers around on the different boards. If you mention names you always forget some people - but I'm a great fan of Anthony, Bill, Nacho, Niffko, Bruno and James C to name a f...

For me, nos. 2, 3 , 6, 12, 15, 18, 19 and 20 are the pick. No, 15 in particular - it's so dramatic - like a publicity photo in a Panerai advert, only better. Great work! Can you share details of your setup? Cheers Tony P

Set up...

 By: Martin Wilmsen : January 2nd, 2010-07:26
Hi Tony, all the photos are taken with a Nikon D700 and a 105mm VR Nikkor lens. I use off-camera flash, usually two separate SB900 strobes that are triggered with infrared. Some pics have more than usual noise because I forgot so set the ISO back from 800...

Wow Martin, that's just about my exact same setup!

 By: tony p : January 2nd, 2010-21:46
Only difference is, I use an SB-800 flash on-camera as the controller and main flash, and one or two little SB-R200s as the off-camera slaves. Still, you get much better results than I do! Kudos to you. Cheers Tony P

Well...

Two great watches

Totally agree w/ you that the PAM268

 By: Jester : January 1st, 2010-10:44
is underated. In fact, IMHO, I think the whole manufacturer lines are underated but I do believe given time, true fans of Panerai will come around and see the point to it. I've always wondered HOW you manged to borrow so many watches but I guess the quali...

I totally agree with you the PAM268 Radiomir 8 days along with the limited edition versions from the 2005 collection in precious metals such as the PAM200 (white gold version) and PAM201 (platinum version) are very understated and don't get the recognitio...

Fantastic!
