MUT Moon 39...

Sep 15, 2011,12:35 PM

I just went through this process myself and I bought the Master Ultra Thin Moon 39 in SS.  Love it!  An absolutely beautiful watch that is perfectly sized for my 6.5 inch wrist.  I also hope to get the Memovox in the not too distant future.

please help me decide

hello! my first post here... seeking some advice before making the plunge i have more or less decided on JLC, but would like to hear some opinions about the models before making up my mind! here goes... 1) MUT Moon 39 SS - love the elegant design, date, a...

You said it all, Ethan.

So all the opinions and advices you will receive will will biased, mine first. If it is your first JLC, as I guessed from your post, so I would go on the JLC fudamentals: A round, the Memovox, which is a truly iconic complication from JLC, or a Rectangula...

thanks :)

thank you for your kind words nicolas. i'm just a little torn because maybe i don't understand the level of iconism between the pieces. which would you consider more iconic - the reverso (1931 in particular) or the memovox (current) ? and would you pick a...

Both are iconic: The Reverso since 1931, the Memovox since 1950.

 By: amanico : September 13th, 2011-05:34
And not only iconic, but beautiful, too. I would have hard time choosing between these 2. Best, Nicolas.

thanks for your input nicolas. much appreciated!

choose

 By: Timewarp : September 13th, 2011-02:56
Dear friend, I would say the choice is between three by the the process of elimination the Master Control gets eliminated as you have a choice of MUT Ultra Thin 39. Then is the Momovox the MUT has an extra function of the moon, the Memovox has the alarm, ...

tilt towards mut moon 39 too

 By: ethan80 : September 13th, 2011-05:36
thank you for your response salarjung i have tried the reverso, it tends to stick out a little at the sides due to its shape - is that normal or is my wrist too small for the TT1931? i really like the MUT39 for its elegance and perfect balance of clean an...

if it was me

 By: dennis_yong : September 14th, 2011-00:26
My 2 cents: If it's a daily watch and your first JLC, I would go for the Moon 39. Firstly, it's automatic (you'll have to wind the TT1931 every day or so) and the round case goes with pretty much everything. If it's part of a rotation, then the TT1931. Af...

daily watch and 1st JLC

 By: ethan80 : September 14th, 2011-03:00
yes i would like it to be a daily watch, and it is my first JLC, and first luxury watch for that matter. thanks for the input dennis. cheers!

I suspect....

the MM will be the most versatile of the three. But the MUT Moonphase, at least emotionally, is the one that speaks to me. Luminous Let us know what you decide! J

follow your heart they say?=) the little problem i have with the MM is that a lot of other models are also, essentially memovoxes, like the DSA, some compressors etc. i did think about getting a vintage Memovox instead, which are pretty cool with the acry...

Making a very similar decision myself.

Hi ethan80, I was basically in the same position as you, with the same three models on a JLC shortlist - the MUT 39 Moon, the Master Memovox, and the Reverso UTT 1931. If this is your first JLC, as others have already said, I would suggest either the MUT ...

cool!

 By: ethan80 : September 15th, 2011-06:52
so which did you pick eventually? my wrist is also 6.5"!=) yeah i agree about the 1931 being just a little too "tall" on the wrist. still looks pretty awesome though... oozing with style! ahhh!

The 1931 is a very stylish piece for sure.

 By: grumio : September 16th, 2011-04:35
If it was not quite so tall, and came in a midsize reverso case, it would be just right for me. I already have a Master Ultrathin 34mm, so I have settled on a reverso for the next watch, but a model in the medium 'grande taille' case size - either a simpl...

Moonphase

 By: tim_s : September 16th, 2011-06:01
There is something about a watch with a moonphase complication that I find so appealing. I actually think that the MUT Moon is the looker of these three, tough decision but if it was mine to make I would also go with the MUT. Good luck!

while all are beautiful choices...

 By: sharkfinDave : September 15th, 2011-13:32
I'd say go for the Reverso first, then MUT moonphase...the rest follows. All winners, good luck with your choice. Look forward to seeing what grace's your wrist in the near future. cheers. Dave.

finally its here!
