All things equal except case material, comparing the alarms of the Polaris in steel and platinum, the steel case seemed louder to me.

Which alarm watch is the loudest?

Between AMVOX1, Polaris and Navy Seal Alarm, which one has the loudest alarm sound? Do you think there is an inverse relationship between water resistance and the loudness of the alarm? I see the AMVOX 1 is rated at 50m, Polaris 200m and NSA 300m, would i...

I have.

I actually tested all my Memovoxes and the loudest by far is the AMVOX1 "R-Alarm". The green LE in Titanium 44mm. I tested against the Grande Memovox, Memovox "classic", AMVOX1, Compressor Memovox, Extreme Geo-Memovox, Polaris, Navy Seals Alarm, Memovox t...

I did the comparison between all the JLC alarm watches I know

Modern and Vintage. What sounded louder was the Polaris 1968, I mean, the Vintage E 859. Very close in volume, but in a higher tone, the Polaris II E 870. In the modern production, and among the watches you quoted, I'd say the Amvox I, especially in titan...

Nicolas, Dario, thanks...

Thank you both for the quick response. I hate the no quick date set on the Cal 918. And among the current production, NSA already has a Ti case, does that mean among the Cal 956 watches, NSA is the loudest? I'm hoping the new Memovox, with only 50m water ...

No...

The New Memo sounds like the Polaris...And the water resistance is much important on the Pola: 200 meters. So, as I said, it is more due to the movement: The 956 has a specific sound, more cristalline. It will sound lower than on watches using the 918... ...

Nicolas, sorry, but I'm a little confused...

I understand your point on water resistance rating has no relationship to alarm sound loudness, and Cal 918 is always louder than Cal 956. However, if we were to compare the new 2010 Memovox against the NSA and the Polaris re-issue in 2008/9, all use the ...

Sorry... I meant the TT Polaris, indeed.

Yes, I was seaking of the Tribute To Polaris, and compared it with the new Memo in SS. And yes, the Titanium sounds a bit louder than the new Memo. The metal of the case is a factor, indeed, and inlfuences the volume of the sound. Best, Nicolas
